Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
You'll leave Nairobi early and head down into the Great Rift Valley, stopping at a lookout point to take in the views before reaching Lake Nakuru National Park. Once there, you'll go on a game drive in safari vehicles where you might spot lions, rhinos, buffalo, leopards, and flamingos around the soda lake.

- Day 2
Lake Nakuru to Eldoret
The drive takes you from Nakuru to Eldoret, Kenya's fifth largest town. You'll cross the Equator and stop for photos at this landmark, then visit the nearby Sirikwa holes, which are primitive dwellings from an ancient tribe.

Eldoret to Kampala
You cross into Uganda today, traveling through lush rolling hills, tribal villages, and growing towns and cities on your way to Kampala, Uganda's capital city. Churchill once called it the 'Pearl of Africa.'

Landmarks Kampala - Day 4
Kampala to Chimpanzee Trekking Area
Heading west from Kampala, you'll cross the Equator again and pass through fertile terraced hillsides, banana plantations, steep mountains, and tangled forests. Along the way you'll likely see herds of Ankole cattle with their distinctive long curving horns. After arriving at your accommodation, you'll have time to relax, take walks, and spend time with locals.

Kalinzu Forest or Kyambura Gorge
This morning you head out searching for chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Unlike mountain gorillas, chimps live in trees, so you'll be gazing up into the forest canopy. Seeing these closest relatives to humans in the wild is something you won't forget.

Landmarks Kalinzu Forest Kyambura Gorge - Days 6 - 8
Chimpanzee Trekking Area to Lake Bunyonyi
You'll drive to Lake Bunyonyi, which is dotted with scenic islands and surrounded by lush forest and rolling hills. Over the next three days, everyone completes a mountain gorilla trek in small groups. On non-trekking days, you can take optional boat trips to islands, do bird-watching, visit villages, or go canoe paddling. Trek days start early with your guide leading you through rainforest to find gorilla families, where you'll spend about one hour watching from a safe distance.

Kampala to Jinja
It's a short drive to Jinja, a city on the banks of Lake Victoria where the River Nile begins. The Nile flows 5,584 kilometers through 11 countries before reaching the Mediterranean Sea in Egypt. Your campsite sits beside the Nile, and you'll find numerous optional activities available, plus chances to volunteer at local school initiatives.

Jinja to Eldoret
You cross back into Kenya and return to Eldoret. Your final evening is spent around the campfire, sharing your favorite moments from the last two weeks and exchanging contact details with the group.

After crossing the Equator, you head south to Nairobi and your base just outside the city. The evening is free to explore Nairobi's nightlife or eat dinner at the well-known Carnivore Restaurant.

Today is free to explore Nairobi and the surrounding areas at your own pace. If you prefer, you can join optional excursions like close encounters at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, the Giraffe Centre, or the Karen Blixen Museum in nearby Karen. Or simply take time to rest and recharge.
