- KSKathryn· June 18th, 2024Buyer beware. A friend and I booked the Prague, Vienna, Budapest tour for December 2023. We planned for months and noted from other reviewers, that many not-to-be-missed sights were either optional experiences for extra money or not included at all. A half day excursion to another city was switched a month before the trip causing us to scrap careful plans for the other half day. Our reception in Prague consisted mostly of the tour director giving information in a crowded and noisy hotel lobby while other guests checked in. We were told we needed to decide on upcoming optional experiences that evening. We asked about seeing St. Vitus Cathedral and we were told that it had been closed for several weeks. We looked into it ourselves. Turned out it was open and had been although we had to purchase our own tickets. Dinner out was delicious. The next morning, the optional boat trip for the afternoon was cancelled. Turns out, a certain number of people have to sign up to go so anyone who was interested in that would have to scramble and figure it out on their own at the last minute. At the palace complex, we were turned over to a local guide. It was a very crowded and snowy Saturday morning with hundreds milling around the area. Our guide proceeded to flip up his dark hood and walk through all the tourists without a backward glance as we tried to keep up. It was difficult to hear him on our radios. He expressed irritation when we said we couldn’t easily see where he went and dismissed our suggestion that he could have a tall Trafalgar sign for us to follow. The “tour” only consisted of walking around outside for about 30-40 minutes as he gave information. We never entered any of the historic buildings/cathedral which is the highlight of Prague. We stayed behind the group to use our purchased tickets to access all of the sights. St. Vitus was gorgeous. Unfortunately, inside a different building, I fell on the slippery floor, dislocated and broke my wrist. I had to go by ambulance to the hospital. The tour director came for a short while but doesn’t speak Czech so he left while I dealt with staff and medical procedures. The next day, the tour group went to Germany for the day while we spent hours trying to figure out how to get home so I could see a specialist. Since we had booked our airline tickets, we were on our own to make all travel arrangements. Hotel staff were marvelous and helped me find a doctor who could come to the hotel to prescribe pain meds and we flew home the next day. Thankfully we did buy the travel insurance. We decided that since we had already done so much research, we would try the Christmas markets in Vienna and Budapest again this December. But after such a disappointing experience, we are not definitely not doing this or any other tour with Trafalgar!Show moreTrafalgar commented on this reviewThank you for your feedback. - LLolaMitchell· May 12th, 2019This was an amazing trip to a fascinating part of the world. Thanks to Carolyn who was a wonderful tour director, experienced with Trafalgar, knew the areas of the tour well, very helpful, fun to travel with her. Thanks to our great driver, Zoltan, for taking us safely through our days on the road. The local guides were terrific, their knowledge of their home cities seemed never ending. My second tour with Trafalgar and recommend them to all travellers.Show moreTrafalgar commented on this reviewIt's always great to have a returning guest share their feedback, as they are aware of the high standards to expect from a guided holiday with Trafalgar. - ACAnnette· December 7th, 2018In my opinion, this tour is on the pricey end. It is not much of a tour, I will say it is more of a convenient travel where they take you from Prague to Budapest and threw in a free walking tour in each city and a short museum visit before opening time (short as the guide only have time to explain 3 items). It is good if you are happy to explore the city on your own, else it gets even more costly if you take up all or few of the optional tours they offered. Some optional tours were good and some were pretty average and quite rushed. Our travel director was pretty average too. Didn't seem very interested to get to know us and not as friendly as others I've encountered on different tours. Go for this tour if you happy to pay that price and explore on your own, else you might as well go for the usual full blown Trafalgar tours that are packed with activities.Show moreTrip date: November 2018
- Stephen· December 3rd, 2018Avoid this operator. Even the most trivial thing is an option, leaving you with a $1000 extra bill at the end. Take a walk downtown? It's an option and will cost 50 Euro each. DO NOT purchase their insurance. They operate their own insurance. It is a rip off and they will not pay under any event. They will run you around for months and then not pay. The tour director seems like he is there is there for the first time. Meals are provided by the lowest bidder. We have been on a bunch of tours like this and this was the worst overall. We are done with Trafalgar.Show moreTrip date: October 2018
- Allison· October 21st, 2018Our trip was a family trip of 17 adults , and Greg did a great job at looking after us. Everything was so well organised and he always had a smile and laugh that was infectious. Greg was a highlight of the trip. There were no issues on the trip and everything ran very smoothly. All in all a fabulous tripShow moreTrip date: September 2018
- TThibaultdePolignac· October 13th, 2018The tour was very well organise and managed but what really mad it extra special was our guide Greg. His passion and love for what it does carries through out the entire journey. He communicated very well managing everyone’s expectations always, knew his subject and had always valuable tips and info for each place we visited. There is no doubt this tour was a success greatly because of his input attention to details and high energy!Show moreTrip date: October 2018

Asked on August 3rd, 2024I am looking for a trip to Vienna and Prague and possibly Budapest starting on February 15 or 16, for approximately seven days. Do you have anything that fits those parameters?
- TrafalgarOperator•Written August 2024
Unfortunately, Trafalgar does not have any adventures to these destinations available on February 15th or 16th. However, we have found some alternative adventures for you to consider.

Asked on April 30th, 2024In the tours where the beginning city is different from the final city, how does the traveler go back to the beginning city which is where the airport is. For example, the beginning city is Amsterdam and the final city is Paris. The traveler has to go back to Amsterdam to take the airplane. Are there shuttles that the tour operator can provide?
- TrafalgarOperator•Written April 2024
Majority of our tours start and end locations are different, we suggest booking the departure flights in the end location. For some of offered tours there are options where you can end your tour location. The departure transfers that we can only provide is from end hotel to the airport recommended by Trafalgar Tours.
