Itinerary
- Day 1
Amazon Lodge Arrival
You'll arrive at the Amazon Lodge and check in with a welcome native beverage to get oriented. After settling in, head out on the Guitarracocha Trail toward Kuyana Island for a moderately easy walk that takes about 1.5 hours. The trail leads to a viewpoint where you can take in the landscape, and there's an opportunity to swim in the Hollin River if you'd like. By evening, return to the lodge for a locally-sourced dinner prepared with ingredients from the area.

- Day 2
Amazon Lodge
Start early on the lodge's nature trails for birdwatching around sunrise, where you might spot orioles, parrots, and various other species over about an hour. Later in the morning, head to the Ushpayacu waterfalls, an estuary formed by natural springs, for roughly 3 hours. This area is good for spotting wildlife, so bring binoculars if you have them. In the afternoon, you'll participate in a hands-on cooking class back at the lodge where you'll learn to make local dishes like maito and chontacuro, and even prepare chocolate from scratch.

- Day 3
Quechua Community Visit
During the day, visit a Quechua family in the Santo Domingo del Hollín Community to learn about their ancestral traditions and local food preparation firsthand. You'll get to experience how they live and work in the jungle. As evening approaches, join a guided night walk with a campfire experience to see the jungle's nocturnal ecosystem and the creatures that become active after dark. This nighttime exploration takes approximately 1 hour.

Departure
