  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Marseille

    You'll land in Marseille around 3 pm and head straight to the cruise ship for a 5 pm boarding. Get settled in your suite and have dinner while the ship stays overnight in Arles.

    Arles to Avignon

    Morning brings three options: a power walk through Arles, a painting workshop on Van Gogh techniques, or a guided tour of the Roman Amphitheater. Later you'll have free time to visit Le Café Van Gogh for wine before sailing to Avignon. Live jazz plays this evening onboard.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.

    ship was excellent, food and drinks were great, adventures perfectly organized,all crew members were extremely friendly and helpful. One person was outstanding and needs to be mentioned: our cruise director GAYLE. She was just outstanding and the best we ever experienced.
