Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Dades
Your pickup happens at 09:00 from your Marrakech place, then you're heading toward Dades village through the High Atlas Mountains. The drive takes you past Ait Ben Haddou Ksar, that historic clay castle you've probably seen in films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. From there, you'll go through the Valley of Roses and Skoura oasis before stopping in Ouarzazate, which has a real film industry presence. By evening you'll be settling into Dades village after a full day of mountain scenery and desert towns.

- Day 2
Dades to Merzouga
This morning continues into Todra Gorges, one of the most striking canyons in the area with palm oases near the High Atlas. The gorges are popular for hiking and rock climbing if that interests you. After that, you're heading through Erfoud, which is known for its fossils and Date Festival. Later you'll reach the Merzouga desert and the big dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you'll take a camel ride and settle in at a desert camp. The sunset and sunrise opportunities here are part of the experience, and you'll spend the night at the camp.

- Day 3
Merzouga to Ouarzazate
After sunrise and breakfast, you're driving to Ouarzazate through the Anti-Atlas Mountains via Rissani, Alnif, Tazarine, and Nkoub. If you're going on a market day (Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays), Rissani's ancient souk is worth exploring with traders from nearby Ksours. Then you'll move through Draa valley with its palm trees and tribal Ksours, stopping in Agdz, a 16th-century fortified mud brick village. The drive showcases Morocco's longest river, the Draa, which runs over 1100 km from the High Atlas down to the Atlantic Ocean.

- Day 4
Ouarzazate to Marrakech
Your final day takes you from Ouarzazate back to Marrakech, passing through several historic landmarks. You'll see Taourirt Kasbah and Ouarzazate's Cinema Studio where they filmed major productions. Ait Ben Haddou Ksar comes up again on the route, then you're going through Telouet Kasbah, a historic Ksar that sat on the old caravan route from the Sahara through the Atlas Mountains. You'll arrive back in Marrakech by late afternoon, wrapping up your desert tour.
