Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Dades
Your driver picks you up from your Marrakech hotel at 08:30 AM and you'll head into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing through Tizi n Tichka Pass. Along the way, you'll stop to check out some local villages and get a sense of how people live in the area. The main attraction for the day is Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site that's really worth the visit. After exploring there, you'll continue on through Ouarzazate and drive through the Valley of Roses before arriving in Dades village where you'll stay the night.

Dades to Merzouga
This morning you'll travel toward Todra Gorge, passing through palmeries and Berber villages as you drive through green valleys and the pink rose valleys. You'll go through Erfoud city, which is known for its marble fossils if you want to grab something there. By afternoon you'll reach the Merzouga desert area. From there, you'll take a camel ride out to the camp, which takes about an hour. You'll catch the sunset at the Erg Chebbi Dunes and then settle into the bivouac camp for the night. Weather permitting, there'll be music and time for stargazing.

Merzouga to Fes
Wake early to see the sunrise and have breakfast back at camp. You'll spend some time exploring the Erg Chebbi Dunes, which are the tallest sand dunes in Morocco at around 250 meters. After that, you'll drive through the scenic Ziz Valley where you'll see volcanic rock formations and cedar forests. The cedar forests are home to Barbary Monkeys, so keep an eye out. You'll stop for lunch in Midelt, then continue driving to Fes and Ifrane before finishing at your accommodation for the night.
