Itinerary
- Day 1
Lima
Leave your Lima hotel early and head to Pantanos de Villa, a wetland reserve where you'll take a boat through the swamps to spot hundreds of bird species. After that, you'll check out the archaeological site at Pachacamac, walking through its museum and ancient temples. From there, swing by Hacienda Los Ficus to see traditional Peruvian Paso horses and watch riders perform their skills. Late afternoon you'll transfer to Paracas, which takes around 3 hours, arriving as the sun starts to set.

- Day 2
Ica - Huacachina
This morning you'll take a 2-hour boat tour out to the Ballestas Islands, where you can see birds, sea lions, and Humboldt penguins up close. Back on land, walk the El Chaco boardwalk and then head into Paracas National Reserve to see where the desert meets the ocean. Later you'll drive to Ica and visit Hacienda Tacama, the oldest vineyard in South America from 1540. You'll tour the cellars, climb up the tower for vineyard views, and taste wines and Pisco. By evening you're in Huacachina, a quiet oasis surrounded by enormous sand dunes.

Nazca
Start the morning with tubular rides through the Huacachina dunes followed by sandboarding down the slopes, then take a walk around the lagoon oasis before checking out. You'll stop at Ica's Regional Museum to see Paracas mummies and artifacts from different ancient cultures. After lunch in Ica, it's a 3-hour drive south on the Pan-American Highway to Nazca. Once there, you'll settle into your hotel and have dinner at a traditional restaurant that includes cultural dance performances.

Nazca
Early morning starts with a 45-minute small plane flight over the Nazca Lines, where you'll see the famous geoglyphs from above, including designs of monkeys, spiders, and hummingbirds carved into the desert floor. Next you'll visit Chauchilla Cemetery to explore pre-Inca mummies with preserved skin and distinctive hairstyles still in their original graves. After lunch in Nazca, check out the Nazca Walls archaeological site and the Cantalloc Aqueducts, where you can walk into the spiral-shaped underground passages. You'll finish the day at a ceramic workshop learning traditional Nazca pottery techniques and picking up some pieces.

Nazca to Lima
Travel 19 km from Nazca city to Cahuachi, the ancient capital of the Nazca culture and a ceremonial center with pyramids and structures that once served as housing, workshops, and ceremonial spaces. You'll explore this archaeological site and learn how music played an important role in Nazca ceremonies through the artifacts and textiles on display. Have lunch in Nazca, then begin the 7-hour journey back to Lima with stops along the way to stretch and visit interesting sites.
