Itinerary
- Day 1
Delhi
You'll arrive in Delhi and connect with your MTA representative at Gate 4. From there, head to Jama Masjid in Old Delhi, then take a rickshaw through the busy Chandni Chowk Market to get a feel for the neighborhood. Next you'll visit Rajghat, where Mahatma Gandhi's tomb is located. After that, Colonial Delhi comes into focus with stops at Parliament House, the President's House, and India Gate. Before checking into your hotel, you'll go to Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that's worth the detour.

Delhi to Jaipur
After breakfast, the drive to Jaipur begins. When you arrive, check out Galta Ji Temple, also called the Monkey Temple, where natural water tanks called kunds attract both pilgrims and a lively monkey population. Later in the afternoon, you'll see Birla Temple, which is built entirely in white marble and dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The stone carvings there depict scenes from Hindu epics. By evening you're settled at your hotel for the night.

Jaipur
Starting early, you'll drive to Amber and walk through Amer Fort, a Rajput architectural highlight sitting on a hilltop where the Maharaja of Jaipur once lived. On the way back, stop for photos at Hawa Mahal. Then you'll spend time at City Palace, a collection of princely buildings with a museum featuring carpets and miniatures. The Astronomical Observatory built by Jai Singh in the 1600s is next, where you'll see a 27-meter tall sundial and other instruments. Before heading to your hotel, there's time to browse local handicraft shops known for textiles and gemstones.

Jaipur to Agra
The drive to Agra includes two stops at historical sites. First, you'll reach Abhaneri village and see Chand Baori, one of India's largest stepwells built in the 9th century with 3,500 symmetrical steps descending over 100 feet. Next comes Fatehpur Sikri, the Ghost City built in red sandstone by Emperor Akbar, which was abandoned after just 12 years but still holds its medieval character. You'll arrive in Agra by evening and check into your hotel.

- Day 5
Agra
After breakfast you'll visit Taj Mahal, the white marble mausoleum Emperor Shah Jahan built between 1631 and 1653 in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The architecture blends Persian, Islamic, and Indian styles into one of the New Seven Wonders. Later, Agra Fort is on the itinerary, a complex of palaces and royal gardens where Mughal rulers lived for centuries along the river. Akbar built it in 1565 and later rulers expanded it. You'll return to your hotel afterward.

Agra to Khajuraho
After breakfast you're transferred to Agra railway station for a train to Jhansi. Your representative meets you there for the drive to Orchha, which sits on the River Betwa's banks. Founded in the 16th century by Maharaja Rudra Pratap Singh, Orchha was the kingdom's capital and a cultural hub. You'll see Jahangir Palace and the Chattris (cenotaphs). Lunch happens at a restaurant near the royal palace, then it's a 175 km drive (about 4 hours) to Khajuraho before checking into your hotel.

- Day 7
Khajuraho to Allahabad
After breakfast you'll explore Khajuraho's temples, built between the 9th and 11th centuries during the Chandella dynasty. The stone carvings show gods, goddesses, celestial beings, and scenes of daily life in both Nagara and Dravidian styles. Western temples honor Hindu deities while eastern temples celebrate Jain Tirthankars. Originally 84 temples existed (one for each Kamasutra posture), though only 33 remain today. From there you'll drive to Allahabad, now called Prayagraj, and check into your hotel for the night.

Allahabad to Varanasi
After breakfast, morning time at Sangam shows the religious life there, where millions of pilgrims come for holy dips and rituals. Next you'll visit Anand Bhawan, the former home of India's first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, which played a key role in the Freedom Movement. There's an optional boat ride on the Ganges if you're interested. By afternoon you're driving to Varanasi. In the evening, a rickshaw ride or walk through the ghats near the sacred Ganges brings you to the Maha-arti ceremony, where Brahmins greet the river with sacred songs and music.

- Day 9
Varanasi to Amritsar
Before dawn you'll take a boat on the Ganges to watch devotees perform rituals and purification ceremonies in the sacred waters. After returning for breakfast at your hotel, you'll head out to Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after enlightenment. This event, called Dharmachakra Pravartan, marked the start of the Buddhist community. Later you're transferred to the airport for a flight to Amritsar. Your driver meets you there for the transfer to your hotel.

- Day 10
Amritsar
After breakfast you'll visit the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahab), the most important Sikh temple in the world and a key spiritual center with striking architecture. Then Jallianwala Bagh is next, a historic site where many people died during a peaceful protest under British rule. In the afternoon, the flag retreat ceremony at Wagah Border (Atari) shows a high-energy display between Indian and Pakistani armies. You'll return to Amritsar for evening ceremonies at the Golden Temple. Overnight stays in Amritsar.

Amritsar Departure
In the morning you'll visit Durga Temple, then head to Ranjit Singh Museum. After that, you're transferred to the airport for your return journey. You'll be dropped at the airport or any other location that works for you.
