Itinerary
- Day 1
La Paz
You'll arrive at La Paz Airport and get transferred to your accommodation. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and take things slowly. Being at this altitude (about 3,640 meters/11,975 feet) means you'll want to drink plenty of water, eat light meals, skip alcohol, and avoid overexerting yourself while you adjust.

- Day 2
La Paz
After meeting your guide at 8 am, you'll head out on a 1.5-hour drive to Tiwanaku. Once there, you'll walk through this ancient archaeological site and learn how the civilization excelled in pottery, astronomy, and mathematics. The guided tour covers the main structures and ruins surrounded by open landscape. You'll be back in La Paz by around 4 pm.

La Paz
This day is completely yours to wander La Paz's old town. You can check out the historic colonial architecture, walk through local markets, and explore different neighborhoods at whatever pace suits you. No scheduled activities, so you're free to spend time wherever interests you.

- Day 4
La Paz to Copacabana
After checking out, you'll make your way to the bus station and catch a bus to Copacabana, which takes about 3 hours. Once you arrive and check in, you'll head up Kasanani Hill at 2:30 pm to see the ancient Inca observation site. From there, you'll see the Intikala temple with its carved stone seats, then visit the Cathedral of the Virgen de Copacabana before reaching the summit for views of Lake Titicaca. You'll return for dinner.

- Day 5
Isla del Sol
An 8 am boat departure takes you to Challapampa on the north side of Isla del Sol, arriving at 10:30 am. You'll visit the Gold Museum, then hike about 30 minutes to the Inca Chincana Ruins and Table of Stone. After seeing the Sacred Rock (where legend says Manco Capac and Mama Occlo began their journey to Cusco), you'll have lunch by midday. At 2 pm, another boat takes you south to Yumani port. From there, you'll hike up through the village, passing Inca ruins and 3 sacred springs. You'll watch the sunset from the village summit before heading back for dinner.

Isla del Sol to La Paz to Uyuni
Before breakfast, you'll walk down to the port using a different route that passes the palace ruins of Polkokaina and the Temple of the Sun. The boat returns you to Copacabana at 11:30 am, giving you time to catch the bus back to La Paz (about 3 hours). From La Paz, you'll board an overnight bus heading to Uyuni town.

Uyuni
You'll arrive in Uyuni and have breakfast before the adventure gets going. After midday, you'll head to Colchani village at the edge of the world's largest salt flat. There you'll meet your Jeep 4WD vehicle, driver, and support staff (they speak limited English and basic Spanish, but are friendly). You'll drive across the salt flat landscape with plenty of time to take in the surreal, otherworldly scenery. That evening, you'll stay at a Salt Hostel where the walls and some beds are actually made from salt bricks.

- Day 8
Altiplano (High Plateau)
Starting from the salt flat, you'll head toward the desert and High Plateau. In the morning, you'll see the Canyon of River Anaconda. The afternoon takes you through the Siloli desert, where wind, sun, and rain have carved unusual volcanic rock formations. By lunch time, you'll reach Laguna Escondida (Hidden Lagoon). You'll stay at a basic but clean communal hostel, part of experiencing the Altiplanic landscape.

San Pedro de Atacama
An early morning departure pushes deeper into the desert and Puna as the elevation climbs higher. You'll pass red and white lagoons filled with wildlife, see huge mountains with white peaks, volcanoes, and vast altiplanic plains. Your group will have time to chat with fellow travelers along the way. Lunch happens at a geothermal hot springs site. In the afternoon, you'll reach Sol de Mañana Geysers and Laguna Colorada, which hosts over 30,000 flamingos that nest here annually. After crossing the border at Hito Cajon, you'll arrive in San Pedro de Atacama to check in, with the evening free.

San Pedro de Atacama
You have a full free day in San Pedro de Atacama to rest and recover. If you feel up for it, you can visit Valle de la Luna on your own, or you can simply relax in town and explore at a slower pace. It's your choice how to spend the day.

San Pedro de Atacama
A very early pick-up between 4:30-5:00 am gets you to Geysers del Tatio to see the world's driest and highest desert. You'll travel about 1.5 hours between Andes mountains to reach the geothermal site at 4,230 meters. There you'll see geysers, fumaroles, and steaming craters showing the region's volcanic activity. Breakfast is served with views of the geothermic field. On the return trip, you'll make a short stop at Machuca Village. You'll be back at your San Pedro hostel by around midday.

San Pedro de Atacama to Salta
After checking out, you'll make your way to the bus station and catch a bus to Salta. The journey is long and interesting, taking you through varied landscapes. You'll arrive in Salta in the afternoon, find your way to the hostel, check in, and have the evening to yourself.



- Day 13
Cafayate and Villages
A guided tour departs Salta at 7:30-7:50 am (timing varies by accommodation). You'll travel south on Route 68 through small agricultural towns like Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril, and La Viña (tobacco area). After passing through Alemania village, you'll enter Cafayate Gorge to see rock formations millions of years old carved by wind and water: Devil's Throat, Amphitheater, The Monk, The Castles, Parrot's House, The Windows, and The Toad. In Cafayate town, you'll visit a winery and taste Torrontés wine, then explore before returning through the gorge for different perspectives. The full tour takes about 10 hours.
