- Day 1
Colombo
You'll land at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo where your tour leader meets you for the hotel transfer. After settling in, there's an evening city tour that takes you through Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park, and the National Museum. You'll also pass by the Twin World Trade Center towers, the Old Parliament Building, and the Fort district, plus Independence Hall. The tour includes stops at various religious sites, so you'll see Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, and Christian places of worship throughout the evening.

Colombo to Dambulla
Following breakfast, you'll head toward Dambulla with a stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage on the way. The orphanage, which started in 1975, lets you watch elephants being bathed in the river twice daily and see young calves being bottle-fed. Once you reach Dambulla, there's an optional visit to the Cave Temple complex, the largest and best-preserved in Sri Lanka, featuring five caves with 153 Buddha statues plus royal and deity statues carved under a massive rock overhang.

Dambulla - Sigiriya and Minneriya
After breakfast, you'll drive to Sigiriya to climb the famous rock fortress, an ancient palace complex with significant historical importance. The climb takes you to the summit where you can explore before heading back. Later in the evening, you'll go to Minneriya National Park for wildlife viewing. During the dry season (June to September), around 300 elephants gather at the ancient Minneriya water tank from the 3rd Century, making it one of Asia's best wildlife experiences.

Sigiriya to Kandy
You'll leave after breakfast and travel toward Kandy with stops in Matale along the way. Before Kandy, there's a village tour in the countryside near Sigiriya where you'll ride in a bullock cart, take a traditional catamaran ride on a lake, and see paddy fields and traditional chena cultivation. You'll also watch a cooking demonstration and have an authentic Sri Lankan lunch. In Matale, you visit a spice garden to learn about nutmeg, pepper, clove, cinnamon, and cardamom with shopping opportunities. Arriving in Kandy, you tour the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, an important Buddhist pilgrimage site since the 4th Century.

- Day 5
Kandy
This morning after breakfast, you'll visit a tea plantation and factory in the central province to learn how Ceylon tea is produced and participate in free tea tasting. The British brought tea plants from China to this region, making it the heart of Sri Lanka's tea industry. You'll also stop at a Gem Gallery to see how local gems are extracted and understand their characteristics. Later, you visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, set 460 meters above sea level with over 4,000 plant species across 147 acres, including orchids, spices, and medicinal plants. A cultural dance show runs from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, you'll take a scenic train ride from Kandy station to Nanu Oya station, which brings you closer to Nuwara Eliya, the coolest city in Sri Lanka. From there, you're transferred to your hotel. You'll then explore the city including the market and Hakgala Botanical Gardens, which has roses and tree ferns and is home to monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby, there's the colorful Seetha Amman Temple, a Hindu shrine decorated with religious figures.

- Day 7
Nuwara Eliya to Yala
You'll transfer to Yala after breakfast with several stops along the way. First is the Nine Arch Bridge, built nearly 100 years ago using stone and cement blocks without reinforcing iron, completed in 1921 during British rule. Next, you visit Ravana Waterfalls, which drops 82 feet from a concave rock in the misty mountains and takes the shape of a drooping areca flower during peak water season (though it reduces significantly in the dry season). This waterfall is located in the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary. From there, you continue to Thissamaharama and check into your hotel.

- Day 8
Yala
An early morning departure takes you into Yala National Park for a 4x4 safari with a breakfast pack. Yala has one of the highest wildlife densities per square kilometer on the island and offers excellent safari conditions with significant biodiversity. After the safari tour ends, you're transferred to Bentota where you check into your beach hotel and have the rest of the day to relax by the water.

Landmarks Yala National Park - Day 9
Bentota
After breakfast, you'll head to Madu River for a boat safari and fish therapy experience, plus a visit to a turtle hatchery. The Madu River estuary contains 64 islands (some inhabited) covering 915 hectares of wetland fed by seven tributaries, creating a water mass that spreads across 2,300 hectares total. The area became a national sanctuary in 2006 and supports varied biodiversity and different ecosystems.

Bentota to Colombo
