Itinerary
- Day 1
Mindelo
You'll get picked up at São Vicente airport and driven to Terra Lodge in Mindelo, which takes around 15 minutes. Once you're settled in, your private guide will brief you on what's ahead. Then you'll spend the rest of the day walking through Mindelo's colorful cobbled streets and checking out the colonial architecture in this charming fishing village. By evening, you'll head to the beach to watch the sunset.

Landmarks/POIs Mindelo - Day 2
Santo Antão
A boat takes you from Mindelo to Porto Novo on Santo Antão Island over the course of an hour (this is included in your tour). From there, it's a 30-minute transfer to Ribeira de Janela where your guided walk starts. You'll climb across the Peneda valley and down through the Janela ravine, passing coffee farms and mountain villages with ocean views the whole way. By the end, you'll arrive in Vila das Pombas for a two-night stay.

Paul Valley
A short drive gets you to Paul Valley, which is really green and lush. You'll walk from one small hamlet to another through terraced fields where locals are harvesting coffee, oranges, guavas, and vegetables. Around midday, you'll have lunch in Figuerial with a local family who'll share food they've grown themselves. After lunch, the walk continues down toward the Atlantic Ocean coastline.

Ponta do Sol
In the morning, you'll transfer through mountainous valleys and the villages of Ribeira Grande and Garca until you reach Cruzinha. Your walk follows an impressive path with the ocean shimmering below you the entire time. You'll stop for a picnic lunch in the quiet Corvo valley, then keep going to Fontainhas, which is known for its bright colorful houses. The day ends in Ponta do Sol, the northernmost city on Santo Antão.

Tarrafal
A short transfer takes you to Ribeira da Torre, one of the greenest and most dramatic spots on Santo Antão with a striking volcanic peak towering above. You'll explore the landscape before starting your walk. A local family will host lunch, then you'll walk through cane fields following irrigation canals down to the valley floor. After that, you're transferred to Tarrafal on the western shore, stopping at the North Plateau summit before heading down to your seaside accommodation.

Monte Trigo
You'll walk along the coast with Santo Antão's volcanic summit (almost 2,000m high) rising above and dropping straight into the ocean as you make your way to Monte Trigo, the westernmost settlement on the island. This isolated fishing village can only be reached by foot or boat, and it has a sweeping black sand beach with incredible views across the Cape Verde Islands. To get back to Tarrafal, you'll return by cabotage with local fishermen, a 40-minute trip that's a real local experience.

Mindelo
The morning includes a short walk through Tarrafal Valley's fields where you can watch local farmers building terraces and irrigation channels. In the afternoon, you'll transfer back to Porto Novo to catch the boat back to Mindelo (1 hour, included), where you'll spend your final night on São Vicente.
