Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Giza and Memphis

    After your hotel pickup, head to Giza to see the pyramids and the Great Sphinx up close. The Valley Temple shows where ancient mummification took place, so you'll get a sense of how those rituals worked. From there, drive to Memphis to check out the massive statue of Ramesses II and walk along the Road of the Ram-headed Sphinxes. Grab lunch at a local spot, then head to the Step Pyramids of Zoser before spending some time shopping in the local streets. Your driver brings you back to the hotel by evening.

    Alexandria

    Travel from Cairo to Alexandria by air-conditioned vehicle, stopping along the way if you need refreshments. Once there, walk through the Roman amphitheater at Kom El-Deka and go down into the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa to see this ancient burial site. You'll also see Pompey's Pillar and learn about the Citadel of Qaitbay, which served as a defensive fortress. After lunch at a local restaurant, spend time at the Library of Alexandria taking photos and exploring before heading back to your hotel.

  3. Day 3

    Wadi Al Rayan Desert

    Your hotel pickup brings you to Wadi Al Rayan Desert in a modern air-conditioned vehicle. You'll see a waterfall in the middle of the desert, which is pretty rare, and check out the Mudawara Mountains. Keep your eyes open for desert wildlife like slender-horned gazelles and foxes. The action includes 4x4 dune bashing, sandboarding, and a camel ride across the dunes. Later, relax at a Bedouin-style desert camp and have a BBQ lunch before the drive back to your hotel.

    Cairo

    Start your day with hotel pickup and head to the Egyptian Museum, which holds nearly 250,000 artifacts from ancient Egypt. Next, go to the Citadel of Saladin to learn about its defensive structure, then spend time in the Khan El-Khalili Bazaar with its old shops and local culture. Have lunch at a local restaurant, and after that, head to Old Cairo. There you'll visit the Hanging Church (Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church), the Church of St. Barabara, and Abu Serga Church. Your driver returns you to the hotel as the day ends.

    Luxor

    Board an Elite overnight bus from Cairo at 12:30 AM and travel for about 8 to 9 hours, arriving in Luxor around 8:00 AM. After freshening up, your Egyptologist guide takes you to the West Bank starting with the Valley of Kings, where pharaohs like Ramesses III, Ramesses VI, Mrenptah, and Tutankhamun are buried. Continue to the Valley of Queens to see Queen Hatshepsut's mortuary temple and learn about Egypt's only female pharaoh. You'll see the large statues of Amenhotep III before lunch. In the afternoon, explore Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple on the East Bank. The return bus departs Luxor at 12:30 AM, getting you back to Cairo around 8:30 AM.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
