You'll arrive in Palermo and get settled into this capital city where old palaces sit near bustling markets full of spice and energy. Your group gathers this evening to share your first Sicilian meal together, trying out the local food and getting to know each other.

- Day 2
Monreale - Selinunte
This morning starts with a guided walk through Palermo's streets, learning about the anti-Mafia movement and visiting magistrate Paolo Borsellino's house. After that, you'll head to Monreale to see the cathedral's Norman-Byzantine design and its detailed mosaics. Later you drive to Selinunte where you'll stay among olive groves and try local olive oil.

Agrigento - Favara
The minicoach takes you toward Agrigento with stops your Tour Leader picks out along the way. You'll spend time exploring the Valley of the Temples, which has some of the world's best remaining ancient Greek structures. By evening you're in Favara for dinner with the group.

Piazza Armerina - Ragusa
You visit Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina to walk through 4th-century Roman mosaics showing tigers, horses, battles and other intricate scenes. Then you travel to Ragusa, a hillside town where you'll stay for two nights and explore the historic buildings and food scene.

- Day 5
Ragusa
Modica is your first stop for a chocolate tasting that supports a local charity teaching chocolate-making skills. After that, you head to a farm to see buffalo and learn how provola ragusana cheese gets made, then taste fresh buffalo mozzarella with vegetables and local wines. Back in Ragusa, you have free time to wander the narrow streets and try food on your own.

Noto - Syracuse
The luxury minicoach brings you to Noto where you'll check out the Baroque architecture and learn about almond growing from Roman times. You walk through the city and visit the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, with an almond tasting for lunch. Later you continue to Syracuse to see the waterfront and the 5th-century Teatro Greco before your evening meal.

You have the full day in Syracuse, the ancient Greek city that once compared to Athens. Pick what interests you: take a boat across the Ionian Sea to see hidden caves, catch a Sicilian puppet show, explore the underground Jewish community tunnels, or just wander the streets. Try different local food whenever you like throughout the day.

- Day 8
Mount Etna - Etna Foothills
Leaving Syracuse, you head to Mount Etna and stop at Rifugio Sapienza to see old craters and views of the peak. You'll walk through vineyards that have been there for generations, have lunch and taste wine in traditional settings, and go down into the wine cellar. Your hotel sits in the Etna foothills for two nights with spa facilities.

You travel to Taormina, founded back in 400 BC, and see the ancient Greek theatre sitting high on a hill. Free time lets you stroll down Corso Umberto, the main street, where you can shop and try local snacks. Back at the hotel, you'll have your farewell dinner looking back on the whole trip.

On the final day, a local guide takes you walking through Catania showing the Greek, Roman, Arab and Byzantine layers of the city. You visit the busy fish market to see all the fresh seafood available. Before you leave, you make your own cannoli at a family-run pastry shop that's been around 50 years, served with granita.
