  1. Day 1

    Marrakech

    You'll get picked up at the airport and head to your hotel to settle in. Once you're comfortable, the rest of the afternoon is open for you to walk around Marrakech on your own. The souks are great for wandering, or you can check out some historical spots if that interests you. If you'd rather take it easy, your riad is a nice place to relax.

  2. Day 2

    Marrakech

    After breakfast at your riad, a local guide takes you through the maze-like streets and hidden gardens of Marrakech's medina. You'll browse the souks and make your way to Djemaa el Fna square to see the Koutoubia Mosque. By afternoon, your time opens up. Hit a spa if you want, explore more of the souks, or head back to the square to soak in the evening energy.

  3. Day 3

    Marrakech to Dades Valley

    Your guide picks you up early to head toward the desert. You'll cross through the High Atlas Mountains, passing the Tizi n'Tichka Pass at 2,260 metres/7,415 feet. Along the way, you stop at Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO site, for lunch and time to explore. From there, you'll drive through the Skoura Oasis and M'Goun Valley, then follow the famous Dades Valley with all its kasbahs. By evening, you reach Dades Valley where you'll spend the night.

  4. Day 4

    Dades Valley to Merzouga

    After breakfast, you head to Tinghir to see the Todra Gorges, where you can walk between massive rock walls. Later, you continue toward Erfoud and visit a fossil workshop. By afternoon, you reach Merzouga and mount a camel (or hop in a 4WD if that's better for you) into the Erg Chebbi dunes. That night you stay at a luxury Berber camp with stargazing and a Moroccan dinner featuring traditional music.

  5. Day 5

    Merzouga

    You can catch the sunrise over the desert if you want. After breakfast, you'll have a couple hours to relax. Then a 4WD takes you to see the abandoned Mifis ghost town and fossil digs. Lunch happens at Khamlia Village with live Gnawa music and homemade Berber pizza. You'll also visit the seasonal Srij lake and Rissani market. Back at camp, there's time to chill, and you can try optional quad-biking or dune buggies if interested. Camels again at sunset, then dinner and another night under the stars.

    Merzouga to Fes

    You leave the camp after breakfast and drive back through Erfoud toward the dramatic Ziz Gorge and Morocco's largest oasis. The landscape here is filled with deserted kasbahs, palm groves, and mud-brick villages, so it's great for photos. Lunch is in Midelt with High Atlas views. You'll cross through rocky plains, cedar mountains, and deep canyons. If you're lucky, you might spot Barbary apes in the Azrou hills. Later you pass through Ifran, then arrive in Fes by evening where your guide helps you get settled at your riad.

    Fes

    You explore Fes medina with a local guide who knows the old winding streets well. Donkeys pass through the narrow alleyways as you browse vibrant markets full of spices and perfumes. You'll see traditional leather-tanning techniques and visit landmarks like Karaouine Mosque, Dar al-Magana, and the Fondouk el Nejjarine with its Wood Museum. Lunch is at a palace-restaurant, and you'll also walk through Fes el-Jdid, the royal palace area, and the Mellah. Dinner happens at a local medina restaurant.

    Fes to Chefchaouen

    After breakfast, you leave for Chefchaouen. On the way, you stop in Meknes to see the Bab Mansour Gate and the historic medina. Then it's on to Volubilis, a UNESCO site with Roman ruins and mosaics. You pass through Moulay Idriss, the holiest town in Morocco, before heading up into the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen. You'll settle into your riad and wander the white and blue streets. Dinner and wine happen on your hotel rooftop with views of the night sky.

    Chefchaouen

    This morning you have time to explore Chefchaouen's blue-washed medina and local markets where you'll find crafts and goods specific to the highland region. The afternoon is relaxed so you can soak in the calm mountain atmosphere. If you're up for it, there's an optional 3-hour hike to God's Bridge and Akchour waterfalls, with chances to grab juice or tea from local vendors along the way.

Then you continue to Rabat, Morocco's political capital. You'll walk through charming streets lined with historical sites and browse lively markets that mix old architecture with local culture.

    Rabat to Essaouira

Later you drive to Essaouira, a coastal town known for its arts scene and skilled woodcarvers. You can walk the historic ramparts, browse the medina, or check out the busy port with fresh seafood. Dinner is in Essaouira and you spend the night there.

    Essaouira to Marrakech

    You leave Essaouira in the morning and head back to Marrakech at a relaxed pace. The drive takes you through valleys with old olive trees, orange orchards, and argan oil cooperatives. Once you arrive, the afternoon is yours to do what you want. Consider visiting a spa or hammam, taking a cooking class, or hopping on a donkey cart around town. Your guide is there if you need suggestions.
