Itinerary
- Day 1
San Jose
You'll arrive at San Jose International Airport and meet your Sea Kayaking Costa Rica representative who'll drive you to your hotel, which is only 10 minutes away. After your international flight, you can settle in and take time to rest and adjust to the new time zone.

Landmarks/POIs San Jose International Airport - Day 2
Central Valley to Golfo Dulce
Start with a traditional Costa Rican breakfast, then drive through the Central Valley highlands down to the Osa Peninsula, passing villages, rainforests, and plantations along the Pacific coastline. You'll arrive at El Chontal Ecolodge on the Golfo Dulce and check into your jungle cabin. After lunch, get fitted for kayaking gear and paddle through the mangrove forest for your first adventure. Dinner comes after sunset.

- Day 3
Esquinas River and Sloth Sanctuary
Take a motorboat to the Esquinas River on the other side of the Gulf, then paddle back downriver to where it meets the ocean. Cold drinks are waiting on the boat ride back to the lodge. In the afternoon, visit a local family's forest property where sloths live and walk the trails for about 2 hours looking for wildlife. Dinner is served after sunset.

- Day 4
Golfo Dulce to Playa Blanca
After breakfast, paddle 12 km around the northwest portion of Golfo Dulce, passing the Mangroves Forest of the Rincon River and Punta Palmas with stops on deserted beaches. You'll arrive at Playa Blanca village and stay at Lapamar Ecolodge. This route gives you chances to spot sea turtles and scarlet macaw colonies. Depending on tides, either paddle the Barrigones Creek mangrove in the afternoon or walk the nearby rainforest. Dinner is served after sunset.

- Day 5
Corcovado National Park
Take a break from kayaking for a day trip to Corcovado National Park. Drive 20 minutes to Puerto Jimenes, then boat 25 minutes to exit Golfo Dulce and paddle another hour along the Osa Peninsula to reach Sirena Ranger Station. Your naturalist guide leads you on wildlife trails. Lunch is on a wooden deck overlooking the jungle and ocean. Continue hiking in the afternoon, then boat back to Puerto Jimenez and return to Lapamar Lodge. Relax at the beach or your cabin before dinner after sunset.

- Day 6
Mogos Isles to El Chontal
Start early with coffee and a hearty breakfast, then paddle the final 15 km stretch to the Mogos Isles, where you'll likely spot dolphins and marine life in emerald-green waters with stops on deserted beaches. After a break, paddle back across Golfo Dulce around Punta Rincon to El Chontal Ecolodge. Enjoy your last homemade lunch, then visit a local organic farm to see sustainable practices and organic cacao production. The tour includes tasting organic fruit and chocolate fondue.

Puerto Jimenez to San Jose
After breakfast, head to the Puerto Jimenez airstrip for a scenic 50-minute flight back to San Jose along the Pacific Coast. A Sea Kayaking Costa Rica representative meets you at the airport and drives you to a nearby hotel. The rest of your afternoon is free to relax at the hotel, use its amenities, try nearby restaurants, or explore downtown San Jose on your own.

Departure
Your transportation to the airport has been arranged so you'll get there on time for your flight home. After seven days of paddling adventures along Costa Rica's best waters, you're heading out with great memories, good photographs, and the warmth of a true Tico smile.
