Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu/Pokhara to Chitwan
You'll get to your hotel in Chitwan by early afternoon after the scenic drive from wherever you're coming from. Once you've settled in and had lunch, head out for a village tour and stop at the Elephant Breeding Centre where the naturalists will walk you through how they care for the elephants. Dinner comes back at the hotel, and then you'll watch a Tharu cultural dance performance with traditional refreshments afterward.

Chitwan
Start early with breakfast, then get on a canoe ride along the Rapti River to look for rare crocodiles and do some bird watching. After that, a naturalist guides you through a jungle walk in the subtropical forests where you might see deer, rhinos, and sloth bears. Lunch happens in the afternoon, and then you'll take a jeep safari through grasslands and sal forests to reach Kasara headquarters and the Gharial Hatchery Farm to learn how crocodiles are bred and released back into the wild.

Chitwan
After breakfast, you'll have free time to relax and do whatever you'd like. Following lunch, you'll go on an elephant safari through the grasslands and core areas of Chitwan National Park, riding on a trained elephant where you can spot rhinos and other wildlife from up high. You're back at the hotel for dinner in the evening.

Chitwan to Kathmandu/Pokhara
Get up early for bird watching in Chitwan where over 500 bird species have been recorded in the area. You might spot Cormorants, Hornbills, Stork-billed Kingfishers, and Grey-headed Eagles, depending on the season. Have breakfast, and then you'll head out to either Pokhara or Kathmandu.
