Itinerary
- Day 1
Istanbul to Cappadocia
You'll start early with pickup from your Istanbul hotel, heading to the airport for a domestic flight into Cappadocia. Once you land and connect with your guide, the real exploration begins. Goreme Panorama shows off those distinctive cave houses carved right into the rock, and then you'll walk through Goreme Open Air Museum where you can see frescoes dating back to the 10th through 13th centuries up close. From there, head to Pasabaglari to see the multi-stem fairy chimneys that make this region so unusual. The day continues through Devrent Valley, and you'll climb up to Uchisar Castle for views of the landscape. Before wrapping up, check out Pigeon Valley and stop by Avanos to see pottery workshops where locals still work using traditional methods. By late afternoon you're back at your hotel with the evening free to rest or wander around town.

- Day 2
Cappadocia to Istanbul
After breakfast, you'll start with a 3.5km hike through Red Valley, walking between rose-colored rock formations and past 5th-century Christian cave dwellings that are tucked into the cliffs. Next, visit Cavusin village where there's a 3rd-century church and ancient cave rooms to explore. The route then takes you through Love Valley with its cone-shaped fairy chimneys, which are quite different from what you saw yesterday. You'll go underground next, entering either Ozkonak or Kaymakli underground city to see Roman-era rooms, storage areas for food, old churches, and the defense systems people built below ground. A quick stop at Pigeon Valley rounds out the morning activities, then you head to the airport for your return flight to Istanbul. Plan for about 1 hour to get from the airport back to your hotel.
