Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll land at Kathmandu airport where your tour representative meets you and drives you to the hotel. The ride takes about 20 minutes, giving you time to settle in and get your bearings before the trip officially starts.
- Day 2
Kathmandu
This morning you head out on a warm-up ride through Kathmandu Valley trails. You'll cover roughly 45km over 4 to 5 hours on single tracks through rural areas, passing some temples along the way. After testing your bikes and gear at a steady pace, you'll return to your hotel to finish packing for the road ahead.

Kathmandu to Pokhara
You have two options to reach Pokhara: a 7-hour bus journey or a 35-minute flight. Either way, you'll arrive in this valley town positioned at the foot of Machapuchare with mountain views all around. The area has scenic spots, short walks, cycling paths, and Lake Phewa where you can swim or go canoeing.

Pokhara to Jomsom to Kagbeni
After an early breakfast, you'll head to Pokhara's domestic airport with your bike and luggage for a 25-minute scenic flight to Jomsom. Once there, bikes get assembled and you'll ride along the glacial Kali Gandaki river toward Kagbeni, the entrance to Upper Mustang. Time to walk through narrow alleyways and stop at Yak Donald's for a yak burger and locally brewed apple cider.

Kagbeni to Muktinath
After breakfast, you'll bike mostly uphill on a jeep track toward Muktinath. Lunch happens in Jharkot where you can check out some monasteries and the local area. Later you'll reach a guesthouse in Muktinath, then take a walking tour to visit the famous Hindu and Buddhist temple before heading back to rest.

Muktinath to Samar
Today connects five villages through ethnic ties and it's a workout. You'll walk along the riverbed, cross the Kali Gandaki on a steel suspension bridge, then climb steeply to Chele village for lunch in barley fields. From there, climb to a 3,130m cairn overlooking Gyakar village across a canyon, pass through alpine terrain to a 3,550m pass with Himalayan views, and descend to Samar where you'll camp by a willow grove.

Samar to Ghami
This is a tough day crossing five passes all over 3,800m: Bhena La, Yamdo La, Syanboch La, Nya La, and Ghami La. You'll need an early breakfast because while the climbs aren't as steep as yesterday, the high altitude and multiple passes make it hard. Fast downhill sections help. Lunch is in Ghiling, then a 5km climb and long downhill gets you to Ghami teahouse by evening.

Ghami to Lo Manthang
You'll cross two passes today. The first has a long 4.5km climb; the second is easier. It's slightly less demanding than the previous two days, though altitude still matters. Pass through the nice village of Charang at midday for lunch, then continue past an isolated chorten and spectacular caves carved into cliffs. Reach a 3,850m ridge with first views of Lo Manthang and snow-capped Mansail peak before descending into the walled city from the northeast corner.

Landmarks/POIs Charang Lo Manthang Mansail Peak - Day 9
Lo Manthang
Today you explore the walled city with around 150 houses and four monasteries, one dating to the 15th century. You'll walk through temples to see Buddha images and religious paintings, though photography gets restricted in some spots and Tibetan mastiff dogs guard the monasteries. The King's Palace sits as the main building in the center. An optional afternoon walk toward Chosar is available if you want more time out.

Lo Manthang to Nyi La
You'll bike 21km starting from the monastery with a climb to a 4,100m pass marked by a cairn. After that, you'll pass through alpine meadows and descend through a red and purple eroded gully to Tanmar village. The trail continues through lush fields that contrast with barren terrain, climbing another ridge before a brief descent to Ghami village at 3,440m. You'll camp further up the trail on the way to Nyi La pass.

Nyi La to Chele
Another long hard day retracing passes in reverse toward Lo Manthang. From Ghami, the longest climb happens here: 7km to Niy La pass at 4,010m. Fast downhill reaches Ghilling, then a 4km climb to Syangboche La at 3,850m follows. After descending into the village, climb 3km to Yamda Pass at 3,850m. An undulating trail comes next before a long downhill to Chele with great views of Nilgiri and Annapurna mountains.

Chele to Marpha
You start descending from Upper Mustang toward Lower Mustang as the air gets thicker and riding becomes easier, though some tough climbs still show up. The first 3km from Chele are mostly downhill or flat to Chhusang. A metal bridge crosses where the river passes through a natural tunnel. From there, undulating trails take you to Kagbeni along the Kali Gandaki riverbank. Marpha comes next with flat riding but expect strong headwinds typical of mountain weather.

Marpha to Beni
This trail is mostly downhill as you begin on flat terrain, moving through pine forests and past small villages. You'll follow the river while taking in views of snow-capped peaks the whole way down.

Beni to Pokhara
After breakfast, you'll ride along the river bed on a jeep track to Beni Bazaar where the Pokhara road meets the trail. Your vehicle will be waiting there to drive you back to Pokhara.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
You'll travel from Pokhara to Kathmandu by bus, a drive taking nearly 6 to 7 hours. Beautiful scenery passes by your window during the journey. At stops along the way, you can get out and take photographs. Lunch happens en route, and this evening there's a farewell dinner at a restaurant with a Nepali cultural dance performance.

Kathmandu Departure
