- Day 1
Munich
You'll arrive in Munich and get settled at your hotel. The afternoon is yours to wander around and check out some of the main spots like Marienplatz, the Viktualienmarkt, and the Englischer Garten if you feel like it. By evening, you'll meet up with your guide and the rest of the group for a welcome dinner to kick things off.

Munich
Start the day at the Frauenkirche cathedral and take an orientation walk through Munich with your guide. Then you'll head to the Christmas markets, including the Christkindlmarkt at Marienplatz and the medieval market at Wittelsbacher Platz. Grab a traditional Bavarian lunch and spend some time walking through the markets on your own. Later, head over to the Schwabing neighborhood to check out local food and drinks.

Munich to Salzburg
You'll travel southeast to Salzburg, Austria and check in to your hotel. After that, join an orientation walk through the historic cobblestone streets with your leader. In the late afternoon, you can visit the Christmas market in Cathedral Square to soak in the festive vibe. From there, take a cable car up to Hohensalzburg Fortress for views and an intimate Christmas market up top.

Salzburg
This day is yours to explore Salzburg however you'd like. You could take a trip to the salt mine in Berchtesgaden in the German Alps, or check out Sound of Music filming locations like Mirabell Gardens, Pegasus Fountain, Leopoldskron Palace, and Hellbrunn Palace. When evening rolls around, head back to the Christmas markets to enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Vienna
You'll arrive in Vienna and start with a guided walking tour that takes you through the city's historic center, pointing out grand buildings, parks, and monuments connected to famous composers and historical figures. After the tour, you've got free time to choose your own path. Maybe head to Schönbrunn Palace to walk through the imperial gardens, or check out the Hofburg Palace if you're interested in Habsburg history. The Leopold Museum is another option if you want to spend a few hours with art and culture. If heights don't bother you, the Prater Ferris Wheel offers nice views across Vienna. Later in the day, make your way to the Christmas markets in front of City Hall. You can browse the stalls, pick up handmade ornaments or gifts, try freshly baked cinnamon biscuits, and warm up with a cup of traditional Austrian Christmas punch.

Vienna Departure
Check out of your accommodation this morning and say goodbye to the other travelers you've met. Before heading to the airport or train station, you'll have time to return to the Christmas markets one last time if you want to grab any final souvenirs or try some local Austrian food and drink you might have missed. Your tour leader will help coordinate your transport and can point you toward other places to visit in Austria or neighboring regions if you're continuing your trip.
