- Leo· April 25th, 2025We explored Chiang Mai, Pak Beng, Luang Prabang, and Vientiane with the wonderful Viet Long Travel team. The boat ride was the highlight—so peaceful and full of beautiful views. Luang Prabang was filled with breathtaking temples, and Vientiane offered a perfect mix of history and modern charm. The tour was perfectly paced, with plenty of downtime to enjoy the surroundings. The team took care of everything, so we could just relax and soak it all in. Can’t wait for our next trip with Viet Long Travel!Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- Betsy· March 12th, 2025I was looking for a different way to travel from Thailand to Laos, and this cruise was exactly what I needed. The pace was just right, giving us time to soak in the views of the Mekong and visit local villages along the way. Luang Prabang was definitely the highlight—stunning temples, night markets, and the breathtaking Kuang Si Waterfalls. The accommodations were comfortable, and everything was well organized from start to finish. If you enjoy a mix of relaxation, adventure, and cultural experiences, this is the perfect trip!Show moreTrip date: January 2025
- Matt· February 24th, 2025My husband and I took this tour as part of our Southeast Asia trip, and it turned out to be one of our favorite experiences. The cruise down the Mekong was mesmerizing—we passed lush jungles, quiet villages, and even spotted elephants along the riverbank! Luang Prabang was our favorite stop. Waking up early for the almsgiving ceremony and then exploring the town’s charming temples was unforgettable. Kuang Si Falls was even more beautiful in person, and we had plenty of time to swim and take photos. The transition to Vientiane was smooth, and we loved exploring its laid-back streets and temples. The entire trip was well-organized, and our guide was fantastic. If you want to truly experience the heart of Laos, this tour is the way to do it!Show moreTrip date: February 2025
- Brett· February 20th, 2025A Unique & Authentic Way to Explore Laos. This was one of the most memorable trips we've ever taken! Instead of rushing from city to city, we got to experience Laos in a slow and immersive way, starting with a scenic Mekong River cruise. Floating past jungle-covered hills and stopping in tiny riverside villages gave us a real glimpse of local life. Luang Prabang was enchanting—the mix of French and Laotian culture, the golden temples, and the peaceful vibe made us fall in love with the town. We especially enjoyed the boat trip to the Pak Ou Caves and hiking around Kuang Si Falls. Vientiane was another highlight, offering a relaxed but fascinating end to the tour with visits to Wat Sisaket, the Patuxai Monument, and Buddha Park. From start to finish, the tour was perfectly planned, and we felt completely taken care of. If you want an authentic, enriching experience in Laos, this is the way to do it! — Emily & Brett.Show moreTrip date: November 2024

The serene voyage along the Mekong River was both relaxing and mesmerizing, offering us a unique perspective of Laos's natural beauty. Each stop was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the local culture and history. The highlight for us was Luang Prabang, with its charming streets and vibrant night markets. The accommodations were comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. We highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking an authentic and enriching adventure in Southeast Asia.Show moreTrip date: January 2025
- Guinevere· January 6th, 2025The trip was very well organized. The local tour provider was in touch before and during the trip via WhatsApp. The river cruise was just wonderful and all local guides were excellent as well. My only suggestion is to reach out to the local provider after booking this tour to add a couple of days in Van Vieng and ask about lodging in Pakbeng. This is my 4th trip booked through tour radar all over the world and the quality of the tours and service is always top notch! I recommend this tour as an EASY and comfortable way to see Laos added on to a Thailand trip.Show moreTrip date: November 2024
- Abel· December 27th, 2024Perfect for First-Time Visitors to Laos! This was my first time visiting Laos, and this tour made it so easy to explore the country’s highlights without feeling rushed. Starting in Chiang Mai, we crossed into Laos and cruised the Mekong River—a magical experience! The boat was comfortable, and the crew went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Each stop along the way was memorable. Pak Beng was a quaint riverside town with friendly locals, and Luang Prabang was just stunning. I loved the mix of colonial architecture, vibrant markets, and tranquil temples. The Kuang Si Waterfalls were like something out of a postcard! The tour wrapped up in Vientiane, where we explored Buddhist temples, enjoyed the relaxed vibe, and learned about the city’s history. Our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Laos. The whole trip was well-organized, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone wanting an introduction to this beautiful country.Show moreTrip date: December 2024

- RGRené Niklaus· November 24th, 2024Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishOur round trip from Chiang Mai to Vientiane was very well organized. The local guides at the various locations were very friendly and spoke good English. We received a lot of information about the sights we visited and the country of Laos. The drivers drove safely and comfortably. The 2 day cruise on the Mekong to Luang Prabang was a pleasure. The hotels were of the standard we had booked except for the hotel in Luang Prabang. Instead of the Villa Chitdara, we stayed at the Meuangluang. The rooms were ok, but the breakfast not really. The breakfast buffet was empty to almost empty and the coffee and tea were inedible. The highlight was the train ride from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. However, the luggage check was absolutely excessive. We had to hand over a pocket knife (5cm), which we had been able to take with us on every plane for decades. The last hotel of the round trip in Vientiane, Lao Orchid, was absolutely superb. Room, staff, breakfast, simply perfect.Show moreTrip date: November 2024

Asked on November 20th, 2024I want to book this tour for my aunt and I. I tried to book the tour but I got a message that my aunt does not fall within the 70 or under parameters. My aunt was born in 1953 so she is now 71. She is very fit and healthy - she is more mobile and healthier than most 60 year olds. I need to know if I can book this tour with her.
- VietLong TravelOperator•Written November 2024
I've updated the Suitable Age to 80. This tour is designed to be easy-going and relaxing, so there shouldn't be any difficulties for you or your aunt. Please try booking the tour again, and don't hesitate to let us know if you encounter any issues.

Asked on September 23rd, 2024What month is better for cruising February or March in terms of weather and mosquitoes?
- VietLong TravelOperator•Written September 2024
For a river cruise from Chiang Mai to Laos, both February and March are excellent months, but they have some differences in terms of weather and mosquito presence: February is part of the dry season, with cooler temperatures, especially in the evenings and mornings. Daytime temperatures are pleasant, making it a comfortable time for cruising. Mosquito activity is generally lower in February due to the cooler and drier conditions. March is still in the dry season, but temperatures start to rise as it transitions to the hotter months. Days can be warmer, though evenings remain pleasant. Mosquito activity can increase slightly compared to February as temperatures warm up, but it's still relatively manageable with basic precautions like repellent. Recommendation: Both are good. If you need to make a decision, I think February is generally the better choice if you prefer cooler weather and want to minimize the presence of mosquitoes.
