Itinerary
- Day 1
Galway to Clifden
Start early from Galway and cycle 78.7km to Clifden, climbing about 496m over roughly 5 hours. You'll get fitted to your bike and have a safety briefing before heading out. Once you arrive at the Quay House bed and breakfast, you can either take a short spin around Errislannon Peninsula if you're feeling fresh, or walk through Clifden's town center to check out local shops and catch some live music before dinner.

Clifden
Today's 54km ride heads south from Clifden with Atlantic views the whole way. You'll pass secluded beaches and fishing weirs while reaching Roundstone, where local ceramics and the famous Bodhran drum workshop are worth a look. After that, cycle along the Ballynahinch River to see the castle, then take the scenic bog road back with mountain views surrounding you. By evening, head to local pubs in Clifden to catch traditional music sessions.

Clifden to Renvyle
Depart the Quay House and cycle 47km on the Sky Road, passing Clifden Castle as you circle another peninsula. You'll ride through the fishing town of Cleggan, then continue on to Letterfrack and Tully Cross before arriving at Renvyle House Hotel and Resort. This historic 4-star destination gives you plenty of time to relax and use the hotel's facilities after a full day in the saddle.

Kylemore Abbey
This 35km ride follows Killary Harbor with the Maamturk Mountains as your backdrop. Stop at the beach used in the 1951 film 'The Quiet Man,' then continue through a valley overlooking Lough Fee. Kylemore Abbey, a Benedictine monastery, has a 6-acre walled Victorian garden to explore, and you can grab lunch at the visitor center or tea house there. Head back to the hotel for a group dinner in the evening.

Choice of Greenway Cycle or Croagh Patrick Hike
Depending on weather and how you're feeling, either cycle 33km on the Greenway from Leenaun through a valley at the foot of tall mountains, heading toward Louisburgh and Westport (about 3 hours), or hike the 4.3-mile Pilgrim's Path up Croagh Patrick for a 4 to 5 hour roundtrip with 2,400 feet of elevation gain. You'll stay at Plaza Hotel in downtown Westport, and if you have energy left, Matt Molloy's Pub has traditional music playing most nights.

- Day 6
Great Western Greenway to Newport
After transferring to the starting point, cycle 67km on the Great Western Greenway, a dedicated path with views around Achill Sound. The route weaves between the bike path and quiet back roads circling the sound, connecting to parts of the Wild Atlantic Way. End your ride in Newport, where you can take the bike path back to Westport if you want, or just explore the town. Spend the final night checking out Westport's music venues and grab dinner at a local pub.
