Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Milan

    You'll arrive in Milan and get settled at your hotel, then head out on a three-hour guided walk covering the main sights like Venice Gate, Indro Montanelli gardens, La Scala theatre, and the Duomo cathedral. After that, you'll check out Castello Sforzesco fortress and stop by a local bakery for a traditional Italian aperitivo. The evening is yours to spend however you'd like exploring the city.

  2. Day 2

    St Moritz - Milan

    After breakfast at the hotel, you'll transfer to Tirano and board the Bernina Express heritage railway, a UNESCO-listed route that takes about two hours. The train winds through the Italian and Swiss Alps with mountain tunnels and small alpine villages along the way as you cross into Switzerland. You'll arrive in St Moritz with time to explore this exclusive ski resort town before heading back to Milan by coach for a relaxed evening.

    Lake Como - Bergamo

    You'll leave Milan for Lake Como, heading to the water for a boat ride to Bellagio, a charming town sitting where two arms of the lake meet. There's time to walk around Bellagio, then you'll cross back over the lake and drive to Bergamo, which has two distinct parts: the modern lower town and the medieval upper area. Your evening is free to explore however you'd like.

  4. Day 4

    Lake Garda - Sirmione - Riva del Garda - Bergamo

    The day takes you to Lake Garda for a panoramic tour along the west coast with views of the UNESCO-listed Brenta Dolomites and the moraine hills around the area. You'll have the chance to taste local olive oil or wine, then stop in Sirmione for a short boat tour past the castle and the old Roman villa ruins. After finding lunch at a local restaurant, you'll head back toward Bergamo with a stop in Riva del Garda to see its Venetian-style old center.

You'll visit Juliet's Home and see the balcony from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet story. On the way back to Milan, there's a stop in the Franciacorta wine region for an included lunch with wine pairings. Your final evening is free to relax at the hotel or go out and explore Milan.

      Our 2025 dates will be released July/August, I have added you to our waitlist and I will be in touch as soon as they become available. We do not have any extensions for this tour, however we can suggest back to back tours. We have tours from 3 days up until 17 days so we can suggest something that will fit within your plans.

      We have June departures on the 7th of June and the 28th of June 2024. Please note that in 2024 this will be a 6 day tour instead of 5.

    I am looking at the Milan Lakes and Alps by train. Can I choose a starting date? Can I eliminate the Swiss part of the tour? Quote for just the motor coach portion of the tour? Can I start from the train station Milano rather than the airport?

As a tour company, we offer travellers full holiday packages which includes arrival transfers, with hotel accommodations and activities. We do not provide the option to deviate from the arrangements noted as part of the itinerary such as booking your own hotels / accommodation / transportation / optional excursions (except where free time is noted) etc. If you do decide to book this tour as is, the dates we have available online are set dates that we can only offer to travellers and arrival transfers are only offered from Milan Malpensa Airport.

      Yes, this tour is suitable for all ages, weather you are 6 or 80 this should be an enjoyable tour for all. The only thing that we do require of anyone over 70 is required to fill out a tour suitability form (this will be provided at the time of booking), and a doctors note approving them for travel before the start date of the tour.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 70 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
