Our guide, Migen was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in every aspect of the trip!! MANY kudos to him! He not only knew the basics about places we visited but the greater depth of history and made the places come alive, we could actually feel like we were walking on the very stones that so many people had tread on before us. Very impressive! The many places we visited were well rounded and varied. The hotels and meals excellent. Also Migen gave us suggestions for meals and activities when he dropped us off at the end of the day for food, shopping, more history, etc. Truly wish we could have stayed longer! From the snow-capped mountains and ice cold fresh water for drinking all the way to the Rivieria there is no end of gorgeous scenery to visit! And I must not fail to mention the delicious food and congeniality of the people! Always ready to smile :)! We felt very safe (although the driving was quite scary!!) as Migel was driving us around. Most of the hotels were good but we were disappointed with the hotel in Vlore which was in the middle of nowhere.. It was hot and would have liked a swim but most of the beaches were private and required payment to use sun loungers and umbrellas. A concept quite foreign to us and not appealing. Really accomodation at the beach areas should be at hotels with direct access to the beach so when we arrive at the hotels in the afternoon we have plenty of time to enjoy the beach. As fare as we are aware for British citizenships are fine to enter Albania, however just in case kindly check with the authorities.
