    Our travel group had selected a different cruise company(Uniworld) but due to a glitch at Tour Radar we were placed on Avalon Waterways. The ship itself was modern and clean. The bar staff were pleasant and attentive. The same cannot be said for the restaurant wait staff. Extremely rude especially in the mornings. I was especially disappointed that although it was a German cruise, none of the staff spoke a word of German. Part of. Y experience was to hone my language skills which I was only able to do on the excursions. Food quality was average at best, bland, never hot, catering to the tastes of an older American clientele. We had selected to travel with Uniworld originally as it was a higher class of service and passengers. This was not the case with Avalon Waterways. Excursions were done well in my opinion with knowledgeable guides especially in Würzburg. I would however not recommend this cruise line for anyone wishing to have a higher level of service. We had planned and booked this trip over a year ago only to find out days before our departure that there had been a “glitch”. No explanation has yet been given as to why. Also there has been no word from Uniworld to even at least apologize for the error as our booked cabins with Uniworld were literally pulled out from under us.

    • For any tour departing before November 10th, 2025 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after November 10th, 2025, a minimum payment of $750 is required to confirm your booking with Avalon Waterways. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • The following cards are accepted for "Avalon Waterways" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
