Palermo
A walking tour takes you through Palermo with a local expert, visiting the 12th-century Palatine Chapel and its glittering mosaics. You'll have free time to check out Palermo Cathedral, which shows architectural styles from different centuries layered on top of each other. Later this evening, you'll experience a dine-around evening trying out different local restaurants and food traditions.

Trapani - Marsala
You'll travel to Trapani on the Mediterranean coast and visit the colorful salt pans and old stone windmill, learning how sea water becomes salt crystals. After that, you'll head to Marsala for a wine tasting at a local winery to try the region's famous wine.

Agrigento
Traveling along Sicily's southern coast, you'll reach Agrigento and explore the Valley of the Temples with a local expert. You'll see the Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Juno, which sits on a cliff overlooking the sea. In the evening, you'll share your thoughts and experiences with fellow travelers over dinner at the hotel.

Piazza Armerina - Ragusa
You'll visit the Villa Romana del Casale, a UNESCO site with amazing ancient Roman mosaics showing the wealth of that time. Then you'll head to Ragusa and walk through the narrow streets of Ragusa Ibla with your local expert, seeing the Sicilian Baroque buildings. Dinner features farm-to-table cooking with fresh local ingredients.

Syracuse
You'll have choices for how to spend your day in Syracuse. Either join a local expert at the Paradise Quarry to see the Ear of Dionysius and the ancient Greek theatre carved from rock, or take time to walk around the Old City on the island of Ortigia with its narrow streets and palaces. Afterward, you'll travel along the Ionian coast to either Giardini Naxos or Marina Forza d'Agro based on your departure plans.

Early risers from your hotel can catch the sunrise on the Dawn Coast. After breakfast, you have the option to visit Mount Etna and the nearby vineyards. Then you'll head to Taormina, a charming town on a hilltop with views of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna. You'll see the ancient Greek theatre with your local expert and walk along Corso Umberto to catch views from Piazza IX Aprile. Dinner at a local restaurant features Sicilian food and Italian wines.

During your drive to Catania airport, you'll get one last look at Mount Etna. After a short flight, you'll arrive in Malta and get taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and settle in. You'll meet your Travel Director at 6:30pm for dinner.

Sliema
You have a free day in Sliema. You can explore the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra temples, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage list, then head to the fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Spend time walking around the market stalls and checking out the colorful fishing boats in the harbor.

This afternoon, you'll visit the National War Museum and learn about Malta's role in World War II from a historian.
