Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Moshi to Mount Kilimanjaro

    You'll drive about 50 minutes from Moshi to Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, passing through Machame village. At Machame Gate you'll register and get started on the trek through lush rainforest on a winding trail. The lower sections get muddy and slippery, so bring gaiters and trekking poles. After hiking through the rain forest, you'll reach Machame Camp for the night.

  2. Day 2

    Machame Campsite to Shira Campsite

    After breakfast, you'll leave the rainforest and start climbing uphill along a steep, rocky ridge that crosses the valley. The path then turns west into a river gorge before reaching Shira Campsite. You're moving through moorland habitat on this section, with about 4-6 hours of hiking covering 9 km total.

    Shira Campsite to Lava Tower to Barranco Valley

    This day involves a gentler climb with views across the southwest side of Mount Kilimanjaro. You'll pass underneath Lava Tower and the Western Breach, then head down to Barranco Valley. The terrain shifts to semi-desert habitat as you cover 15 km over 5-7 hours of hiking.

  4. Day 4

    Barranco Valley to Karanga Camp

    A steep section starts with climbing up the eastern wall toward the Heim Glacier, where you'll get good views of Kilimanjaro. After ascending the Great Barranco Wall, you'll descend into the alpine desert of Karanga Valley, then finish with another steep climb to reach Karanga Camp. Expect about 3.5-4 hours of hiking covering 6 km.

  5. Day 5

    Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

    The day begins with a steep climb from Karanga, then transitions to an easier path walking on compacted scree through dry alpine desert. By the time you reach Barafu Camp, you can see both Kibo and Mawenzi peaks from camp. This covers 4 km in roughly 3-4 hours, and you'll spend the rest of the day resting and preparing for the summit attempt.

  6. Day 6

    Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

    You'll wake before midnight and start the final steep push over loose volcanic scree with zig-zagging switchbacks toward Stella Point at 5,735m/18,810 ft, timing it to catch sunrise over Mawenzi. From there, you'll continue to Uhuru Peak at 5,895m/19,341 ft, Africa's highest point. After reaching the summit, you'll descend back to Barafu for a break, then continue down to Mweka Camp. The full day takes about 6-7 hours going up and 7-8 hours coming down.

    Moshi to Tarangire National Park

    You'll depart from Moshi heading to Arusha to connect with other tour participants, then travel together to Tarangire National Park. The area is home to African elephants, lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongooses, buffaloes, and baboons.

Later, you'll stop for a picnic lunch on a kopje, then spend your afternoon on a relaxed game drive across the Serengeti's golden savannah with its dotted vegetation and wildlife.

    Start early with a morning game drive in central Serengeti as the sun rises and bird songs fill the savannah. Your guide will look for predator prints to help track down wildlife sightings. After the morning viewing, you'll head to the famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to check out the landscape and the diverse wildlife living there.

    On day 7 after decending to Moshi, do we have to arrange our own accommodation or is this included in the tour?

      Yes, you have to book your hotel by yourself in Moshi then you will let us know the hotel name where we can pick you up on Day 1 and also we can drop you off on Day 7. Some applied after Safari you will let us know the hotel you booked by yourself in Arusha where we will drop you off after safari on Day 11.

    Can you please advise what equipment (eg sleeping bag) do you need to bring or is everything you need provided by the tour operator?

      For both tour, the equipment that you need to bring is only the personal equipment but for the camping equipment we will provide like mattress, camping tent, chairs, table and other camping equipment. But for the personal equipment like Sleeping bag, Hiking boots and other essential equipment especial for hiking. We are pleased to inform you that we have a large store offering a variety of equipment in all sizes. For the equipment that you do not have you may rent at our store when you arrive.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
