- Shawn· August 6th, 2024Excellent way to see Australia in an authentic way and meet new people. Our guide Tom W was very knowledgeable, friendly, considerate and helpful throughout the 8 days we spent on the road together. As a small group we were well catered for and if we had any questions Tom was right there to help night and day. There was a good mix of driving, hiking and exploring local sights on our way north. The sights and experiences on this trip were exceptional and I feel grateful I got to enjoy them at such a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this to anyone keen to discover the South Australian outback and the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.Show moreUntamed Escapes commented on this reviewHello Shawn, Thank you for travelling with Untamed Escapes and for sharing your experience with others. Asked on March 20th, 2025Will I have a place to charge my devices during the tour?

Asked on January 7th, 2025I was wondering from on which month this might happen because of the temperatures, or what months do have a higher risk for this?
- Untamed EscapesOperator•Written January 2025
The Red Centre area typically starts to warm up from November each year, with daytime temperatures reaching around 32°C during daylight. However, the temperature at night remains around 15°C. As a result, we do not have a high-temperature policy for overnight camping, and the group will still camp under the stars during the summer months on our tours. To avoid the heat, our guide will schedule hiking and walking activities early in the morning. Given the nature of the area, we recommend that you bring water containers with a total capacity of 3 liters to stay hydrated during the day.

Asked on December 11th, 2024Are any of your tours commissionable?
- Untamed EscapesOperator•Written December 2024
Earn up to 12% on every booking you place. That's an average commission of USD 400 on a booking of USD 5000.

Asked on November 23rd, 2024Do we need to bring a sleeping bag/pillow for this tour?
- Untamed EscapesOperator•Written November 2024
Yes, you need to prepare your own sleeping bag on this tour. The pillow is optional for sleeping quality. We will provide a single swag for each traveller. There is a thin mattress that comes with the swag. If you don't currently own a sleeping bag or don't have time to purchase a new one, we have a sleeping bag for rental at $20 per person for the entire trip from Adelaide. This will need to be pre-arranged before departure.

Asked on October 3rd, 2024I am a single person looking for a tour. I will be arriving in NZ on Oct 16th and plan to spend 6 months between NZ and AUS. I am willing to be an addition to any of your tours if you can give me at least a week's notice so I can get myself to the start landing any time from Nov 1 on. Is this a possibility? I am 58 and very capable of walking and will have one backpack and one suitcase with me.
- Untamed EscapesOperator•Written October 2024
All our tour availability is listed on our Untamed Escapes website, however, if you are interested in the 8-Day Adelaide to Uluru tour, in particular, we have departures planned for the 17th of October and the 31st of October if any of these dates work for you let us know and we can book you in.

Asked on September 14th, 2024Is there an airport in Yulara to fly back to Sydney?
- Untamed EscapesOperator•Written September 2024
There is an airport in Yulara, they do fly interstate, however, it is a small airport so there may be limited flights available. I will also suggest booking the AAT Kings bus transfer from Yulara to Alice Springs and flying out from the Alice Springs airport.

Sherry
Asked on August 18th, 2024How is the transport organized at the end of the tour for returning to the airport?
- Untamed EscapesOperator•Written August 2024
At the end of your tour, your guide will drop you off at the Dessert Gardens Hotel and from there you can take a free shuttle that runs regularly to the airport.
