Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi to Aberdare
Your guide picks you up early from Nairobi for the 3.5-hour drive to Aberdare. Once you arrive, lunch is waiting at either Aberdare Country Club or Outspan Hotel depending on which lodge you're staying at. After settling in during the afternoon, you'll head to your tree lodge and spend the evening on the deck watching wildlife come to the salt lick. Elephants, buffalo, and bushbuck typically show up during this time, so have your camera ready.

- Day 2
Aberdare
Start early with a game drive through Aberdare's moorlands where you'll see waterfalls like Karuru Falls and walk through bamboo forests. The landscape here is different from typical savanna, so it's worth paying attention to the different vegetation and bird life. A picnic lunch happens near a waterfall or forest clearing, then in the afternoon you can take an optional nature walk with armed rangers (availability depends on your specific lodge and weather). Back at the lodge by evening, you'll have dinner and more chances to spot nocturnal animals from the deck.

- Day 3
Aberdare
Day 3 is yours to decide. If you want to stay put, the lodge deck offers continuous wildlife viewing opportunities. Two optional activities are available if you want to do something different. Solio Game Reserve offers a private game drive where you might see rhinos, lions, zebras, and giraffes in a more intimate setting. Or you can take a cultural tour to the Mau Mau caves to learn about Kenya's independence history. Either way, you're back at the lodge for dinner and have the evening to relax.

Aberdare to Nairobi
After breakfast at the lodge, you check out in the morning. If you're interested, there's a short game drive option on the way out before heading back to Nairobi. The drive takes about 3.5 hours, and you'll arrive at your hotel or airport by mid-afternoon to finish your safari.
