Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cusco to Sacred Valley

    Hotel pickup comes around 8:30am for a private transfer to the trailhead. You'll see the Temple of Qenqo and the Temple of the Moon, where the Inca tracked solstices and equinoxes, plus the Temple of the Monkeys with its carved puma, snake and monkey work. After that you pick your llama or alpaca and walk about 1 hour and 20 minutes along the original Antisuyo route through eucalyptus forest to reach Inkillatambo on the Great Sacred Inca Trail. Lunch happens back at Sky Lodge Glamping, and the afternoon is yours to rest before a group bonfire later.

  2. Day 2

    Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu

    Breakfast at 8:00am at Sky Lodge Dome, then head out toward the Sacred Valley. First stop is Pisaq for exploring the archaeological site, and from there you drive to Urubamba for lunch. Next is Ollantaytambo, the town the Inca actually lived in, followed by an afternoon train ride to Machu Picchu. You'll check into your hotel in Aguas Calientes for the night.

    Machu Picchu to Cusco

    This starts early at 4:30am so you can reach Machu Picchu right when it opens at 6:00am. Your guide takes you to the upper section for sunrise shots, then leads a 2-hour walk through the entire city. After that you have free time to wander around on your own. Later you descend back to Aguas Calientes, catch the train to Ollantaytambo, and then take the bus back to Cusco.

    Would I be able to easily transport them from one hotel to another? Is there any camping involved? Are passes included? Do you have availability for a solo traveler on March 13th? Would you recommend getting a rabies vaccine? Are there any risks of getting bitten by an animal? How about mosquitos?

      Day 1: we walk between 3 to 4 hours (13km Aprox) along with the alpacas till reaching our Sky Lodge Dome. Day 2: is a Bus tour to the sacred valley visiting Pisaq, Ollantaytambo and train to Aguas Calientes. Day 3: we walk to Machu Picchu and explore the city.
