- Day 1
Bogotá
You'll arrive in Bogotá and clear customs before heading to your hotel. The city sits at over 8,000 feet elevation, so depending on when you get in, you can either wander around some neighborhoods on your own or take it easy and let your body adjust to the altitude.

Guatavita - Zipaquirá
Head out early to Guatavita for a 1-hour hike around the sacred lagoon with views of the Andean landscape. After that, drive to Zipaquirá and check out the famous Salt Cathedral, which sits 300 feet underground. You'll do a self-guided tour through 22 stations with audio guides in different languages, then head back to Bogotá for the afternoon.

Bogotá to Cartagena
Take a local flight to Cartagena in the morning. Once you arrive, a guide walks you through the city's main spots like Castillo de San Felipe, the Getsemaní neighborhood, and the downtown areas that go back to the 1600s. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax at the hotel and watch the sunset.

Isla del Rosario
Spend the day on a full excursion to Isla del Rosario and nearby islands. You'll sail for about an hour and fifteen minutes to reach turquoise waters and white sand beaches in the Natural National Park. Swim and snorkel among tropical fish and coral, then eat fresh seafood rice lunch prepared on the boat. Get back to Cartagena in the afternoon with time to explore on your own.

Guatapé
Fly to Medellín early (about 30 minutes), then head to Marinilla for a typical Paisa breakfast. From there, take a motorboat tour on Guatapé Lake, visit La Réplica village, and climb El Peñón de Guatapé, a 220-meter rock formation with 720 steps to the top. Have lunch and explore the town before returning to Medellín for the night.

Medellín to Salento
Take a guided tour of Medellín covering Comuna 13 and its history, a cable car ride for city views, Botero sculptures, and Parque Lleras. Later in the afternoon, fly to Pereira and drive to Salento to settle in for the night.

Coffee Farm - Cocora Valley
Visit Buenos Aires, a local coffee farm operating for over 100 years near Salento. Learn about Colombia's coffee industry, tour the property with a guide, and drink as much quality coffee as you want (it's included). Have lunch there overlooking the valley. Then hike through Cocora Valley before driving to Armenia for your evening flight back to Bogotá.

Bogotá to Tatacoa Desert
Start at 6 a.m. for a 5-hour drive toward Neiva through Tolima department's rice fields. Stop at Villavieja's paleontology museum, then explore Tatacoa Desert with a guide. You'll see two types of rock formations (red near Cuzco and gray near Los Hoyos) and look for local wildlife like birds, snakes, and ocelots. This is where you'll notice the absence of technology and connection to the sky above.

Tatacoa Desert to Bogotá
Have breakfast at your hotel by 9 a.m., then take a 1-hour guided boat tour along the Magdalena River, Colombia's longest river. After returning, collect your luggage and drive back to Bogotá (about 6 hours depending on traffic). You should arrive around 7 p.m., marking the end of your tour.
