The landscape changes dramatically from green rice fields and forests down below to something that looks almost like a desert with Tibetan-style terrain and snow-topped mountains. The trip was great. The tour was good in itself, but we didn't make any stops in the oases on the trip through the desert. But that was announced. The tour guide was good, but was always on the phone and busy with other things. I would have liked to see a little more nature. Uzbekistan is an agricultural country and we saw very little of it. That could have been done on the trip from Samarkand to Khiva.
