Itinerary
- Day 1
Flight to Kathmandu
Your Nepal adventure kicks off with a flight from Frankfurt to Kathmandu on Qatar Airways or a similar carrier in economy class. You'll have time to settle in during the long journey and get ready for what's ahead.


- Day 2
Kathmandu
After landing in Kathmandu, a transfer takes you to your hotel in the city center. That evening, you'll join the group for a traditional welcome dinner, so you can meet everyone and get oriented before exploring.

Kathmandu to Pokhara
You'll start early for a scenic drive through the landscape heading toward Pokhara, which takes about 8 to 10 hours total. Once you arrive, the rest of the evening is yours to wander around this lakeside city however you'd like.

- Day 4
Pokhara to Jomsom
Head out from Pokhara and drive through the Kali Gandaki gorge, watching everything shift as you go higher. The landscape changes dramatically from green rice fields and forests down below to something that looks almost like a desert with Tibetan-style terrain and snow-topped mountains. You'll arrive in Jomsom by afternoon at 2720m elevation, so take it easy that first day to let your body adjust to the altitude.

- Day 5
Jomsom to Lupra
This morning, wander around Jomsom village before climbing into an off-road vehicle to drive up through the windy Kali Gandaki valley. Then you'll trade the vehicle for trekking boots and follow the stream bed on foot. The walk takes you to Lupra, a nice little village where you can check out the impressive gompa and walk through the local streets to get a feel for how people live here.

Lupra to Muktinath
After the porters sort out your gear, you'll start your main trek through the Lupra Valley, which doesn't see many visitors. You get views of Dhaulagiri mountain and the dry Mustang plateau the whole way. By day's end, you'll reach Muktinath, a major pilgrimage site in the Himalayas, and tour the sacred temple complex there.

- Day 7
Muktinath to Chhusang
Trek uphill along a high-altitude trail toward Gyu La Pass where you'll see mountains in all directions. Then you descend past Tetang and Chhoknam villages, dropping down into the Kali Kandaki valley. By afternoon, you reach Chhusang and can rest up after a fairly long day of elevation changes.

Chhusang to Samar
Start early climbing to Chele, then cross two passes, Taklam-La and Dajori-La, continuing upward the whole time to Samar. Most of upper Mustang looks bare and treeless, but Samar has green vegetation and gives you great views of the ice-covered peaks like Nilgiri and Annapurna.

Samar to Sangboche
Trek through a steep, barren area along a copper-red gorge heading toward Bhena La Pass. The trail gets tougher from here with big views of Tilicho and other peaks. You'll pass Ramchung Cave on the way, then go over a ridge, down through a massive gorge, and continue downhill to Sangboche by late afternoon.

Sangboche to Dhakmar
After breakfast, trek uphill to Nyila Pass and take in the views of Nilgiri, Tilicho, and Annapurna. After descending to Ghami for lunch, keep going downhill to Dhakmar, which sits at about the same elevation as where you started the day but on the other side of the valley.

Dhakmar to Lo Manthang
Get moving early because this is a longer trekking day. Climb over Mui La Pass to Ghar Gumpa, then cross Morang La Pass and descend into the valley where Lo Manthang sits. This capital of Mustang is old, built back in 1380, and has a fortified wall around it with narrow traditional streets and big open pastures outside the walls.

- Day 12
Lo Manthang
Today is devoted to exploring Lo Manthang, the royal city. You'll walk through the four-storey royal palace called Monkhar and visit three monasteries: Jhamba Gompa, Thupchen Gompa, and Khenpo Chode Gompa. Wandering past the 180 traditional mud houses scattered throughout this old city gives you a real sense of the place.

- Day 13
Lo Manthang
Drive to Choser to see the Nhyphu monastery and check out the cave culture in this region. The Jhong Cave is really impressive with five levels and over 40 rooms carved in. Depending on how much time you have, you can visit other villages like Garphu, Ghom, Dhuk, and Sisa which all have their own caves and old ruins. If time allows, you can trek back to Lo Manthang instead of driving.

Lo Manthang to Yara
Begin heading back on a route that's just as nice as what you came in on. Trek over Lo La Pass and another unnamed pass, then head down toward Dhi Gaon. Later, move through a dry riverbed toward Yara. From Yara, you get an unusual view across at rocks on the other side where abandoned caves are still visible in the cliffs.

- Day 15
Yara to Charang
Drop down to the Dhechyang Khola river and walk south along it, passing small caves and old fossils that show the geology of this place. The trek takes you through sandy stretches and rocky scree fields with wide views of the dry terrain. You'll do some gentle climbing before reaching Charang, a historic village with impressive chortens and an old monastery.

Charang to Tatopani
Drive back from the trekking area and head into greener country as you descend toward Tatopani. Stop in Marpha, a nice village with a Buddhist monastery and apple orchards, where you can try local apple brandy and apple pie. By late afternoon, you'll be at Tatopani and can soak in the natural hot springs to relax your muscles after trekking.

Tatopani to Pokhara
After breakfast, drive back to Pokhara in an off-road vehicle, heading through lower elevations and greener landscapes. The afternoon is free, so you can explore Pokhara however you like. Check out the International Mountaineering Museum or spend time by Phewa Lake where you get views of Annapurna and Machhapuchare from the water's edge.

Pokhara
This day is entirely up to you. The Shiva statue sits at around 1500m/4,920 feet and offers great views over Pokhara and Lake Phewa if you want to head there. Other options include a rowing boat on the lake, taking a cable car up to Sarangkot for another viewpoint, or simply spending time in one of the cafes along the lakeside while you reflect on everything you've seen.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
A 30 minute flight takes you from Pokhara back to Kathmandu along the main Himalayan ridge, and weather permitting, you'll see the peaks from the air. After landing, you head to your hotel with free time to rest. If you're interested, there's an optional city tour of the Buddhist stupas at Boudhanath and Swayambhunath. The evening brings a traditional farewell dinner to wrap up your time together.

Kathmandu to Frankfurt
Depending on when your flight departs, you might have a chance to do some last minute shopping or see something you missed. Then it's a transfer to the airport for your return flight back to Germany.
