Itinerary
- Day 1
Departure
Get your camera gear ready and head out for your evening flight to Brazil. This is your departure day, so make sure everything's packed and charged before you go.
- Day 2
Cuiaba to Pantanal
You'll land in Cuiaba in the morning and drive out to Rancho Seu Jorge to learn about how locals live and work in the Pantanal. From there, you'll head along the Transpantaneira to reach your lodge. By afternoon, you're already out on your first photo safari in an open vehicle, watching for wildlife as the sun sets.

- Day 3
Northern Pantanal
This is a full day in the northern Pantanal with lots of photo opportunities. You can choose to go out for a sunrise tour, take a boat trip on Rio Claro, or do a night safari. Look for otters, anteaters, swamp deer, caimans, birds, tapirs, and ocelots throughout the day.

- Day 4
Pantanal to Porto Jofre
Start the morning on foot around the area to watch for wildlife. After lunch, you'll drive across numerous bridges along the Transpantaneira heading to Porto Jofre. This is where jaguar country begins. You'll board your floating accommodation at Parque Estadual Encontro das Aguas, which becomes your base for the next few days of intensive jaguar safaris.

- Days 5 - 6
Jaguar Safaris
You have a full day on a private boat in the Rio Cuiaba river system doing jaguar safaris. This area has a particularly high jaguar population, so your chances are good. You'll photograph jaguars resting on riverbanks, swimming, hunting caimans or capybaras. You'll also see capybaras, caimans, giant otters, waterfowl, and wading birds.

- Day 7
Porto Jofre to Pousada
Leave the boat and travel back north along the Transpantaneira to your lodge. Watch for wildlife and local cattle as you go. Once you arrive, cool off in the pousada's pool, then head out for an open vehicle tour and a night safari to look for animals that are active at dusk and after dark.

- Days 8 - 9
Pantanal Exploration
Spend two days exploring the marshland both on foot and by safari vehicle. The pousada has lookout towers you can use to get up high and see across the plains. You'll spot howler and capuchin monkeys in the trees, along with spoonbills, storks, capybaras, and caimans.

- Day 10
Pantanal to Cuiaba
Take one final morning trip to search for wildlife in the Pantanal. In the afternoon, you'll leave and drive to Cuiaba for your journey home. If you want, there's an option to extend and spend a few days in Rio de Janeiro before heading back.
