We felt thoroughly supported and well looked after throughout the trip. Here are the highlights we truly cherished: The "Off The Beaten Path" trekking in Mai Chau, Pu Luong, Sapa, and the areas around Hoi An was simply unforgettable. We relished the tranquility of village life, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The guides in these regions each brought a distinct perspective, their backgrounds and deep knowledge of the areas making our experience truly enriching. Accommodations varied from good to exceptional, with some offering incredible views. Similarly, the food ranged from good to outstanding, with some meals truly memorable. As for aspects we would tweak: Halong Bay, despite its iconic status, felt a bit too much "on the beaten path" for our liking. The long journey from Hanoi, the logistics of embarking and disembarking the cruise ship, the tightly scheduled activities on board, and the limited cruising time left us feeling it wasn't quite worth it. We would have preferred to spend more time either in Pu Luong or Sapa. The journey to Bac Ha Sunday Market also proved to be a long day of driving. We set off early from Sapa and didn't return to our Hanoi hotel until after 9 pm. Given the chance, we would skip the market and opt for an extra day of trekking in Sapa instead. Additionally, we'd have skipped the southern destinations and instead extended our stay in Hoi An, possibly adding Hue and Da Nang to the itinerary. Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong River cruise, while bustling and lively, didn't quite align with our desire for an "Off The Beaten Track" experience. Not only were we off the beaten path, we were emerged in the culture of the regions we were in and we loved it. All of the guides were top notch but two stood out. Mr.Thang in Hanoi and Johnny Cuing in Saigon. Both were knowledgeable and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. They both haves a great history lesson on the country and I found myself wanting to spend more time with them to learn more about their amazing country. They also provided recommendations for restaurants that were not the normal tourist suggestions. Mr. Long in the office was also great. We made some last minute changes to the itinerary and he was able to deliver on every request. Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht, das wir überwiegend (bis auf Halong Bay) einen privaten Reiseführer hatten. Während der Touren begegnet man zwar immer wieder Reisegruppen, so dass es nicht ganz so abseits ist, aber es hat uns überhaupt nicht gestört. Die Hotels bzw Homestay im Bungalow waren gut. Das Essen gut (Restaurant) bis sehr gut (Homestay). Für unseren Geschmack (wenn man kein Karaoke möchte) wäre ein Tagestrip nach Halong Bay (ohne Übernachtung) und dafür etwas mehr Zeit in Hoi An ausreichend gewesen, aber das ist nicht wirklich als Kritik zu verstehen. During this tour based on English-speaking guides, you will join the group tours in Vietnam (group size maybe 12-14 people). They are different group in Halong Bay and Hoi An, for airport pick up, accommodation, your time in Cambodia and Thailand are private. Other time is your free time to explore and relax on your own. The flights included: Hanoi to Danang, Danang to Siem Reap, Siem Reap to Phuket (economy class with 20kg allowance luggage). Our package doesn't include the international flights because airfares change every day and we specialize in Southeast Asia countries, you will get a better rate in your country.
