Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo
Your airport representative will meet you and drive to Colombo. After checking in and getting settled at your hotel, the afternoon is free to relax and recover from travel. Later, head out to see Colombo's busy streets and check out the Race Course area, Pettah shopping district, and Independence Square. You'll also stop by Gangarama Temple, browse the Dutch Hospital shopping complex, and catch some of the city's nightlife before heading back.

Colombo to Dambulla
Following breakfast, you'll head to Dambulla and make your way to the Cave Temple. Climbing about 350 steps gets you to five cave temples with roughly 150 Buddha statues inside, all decorated with intricate details and old cave paintings. The golden temple is particularly striking. You'll check in to your hotel in Dambulla afterward.

Dambulla
This day is packed. You start at Sigiriya Lion's Rock, a UNESCO site where you'll climb around 1500 steps through the ancient 5th-century citadel and see the mirror wall, royal gardens, and museum. Later, a village trek in Hiriwadduna includes a traditional cooking demonstration and an authentic lunch. By afternoon, you'll head to Minneriya Elephant National Park for a jeep safari to spot wildlife.

Dambulla to Kandy
After breakfast, you'll stop at a spice garden in Matale where you can learn about Sri Lankan therapeutic spices over herbal tea. From there, continue to Kandy to explore the Temple of the Tooth Relic, which is the main attraction in this World Heritage Site and former royal capital. Spend time browsing Kandy City Centre, the markets, and craft galleries. In the evening, a traditional cultural show features Sri Lankan music and dance.

- Day 5
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
You'll travel to Nuwara Eliya, the British colonial hill station in the mountains. A tea factory and plantation visit lets you see how Ceylon Tea is produced and try plucking tea leaves yourself. The town has colonial architecture and hedgerows to wander through, plus an 18-hole golf course if that interests you. Scenic drives take you through tea plantations and past waterfalls.

- Day 6
Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Travel to Ella and explore this mountain town and its natural scenery. You'll visit Ravana Falls and Ravana Caves, which connect to legendary Ravana stories from folklore. The Nine Arch Bridge is an early 20th-century engineering feat worth seeing, though reaching it involves climbing about 300 steps. You'll check in to your hotel in Ella for the night.

Ella to Yala
Head to Yala for an afternoon safari at Yala National Park. The park covers 1259 square kilometers and is known for grasslands, wildlife diversity, and the world's highest concentration of leopards. During your safari, you'll have chances to spot elephant herds, sloth bears, spotted deer, jackals, and various bird species in their natural setting.

- Day 8
Yala to Bentota
Travel toward Bentota but stop in Galle first for a Dutch city tour. You'll explore the historic Dutch Fort with its ramparts, bastions, and European architecture that's been preserved for over 3.5 centuries. The Dutch Hospital Shopping Complex shows how Dutch colonial style blends with South Asian traditions. After Galle, continue to Bentota and relax by the beach.

- Day 9
Bentota
Start with a visit to the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project to learn about sea turtle protection. Then take a boat ride along the Madu River in Balapitiya, passing through mangrove tunnels and stopping at Kotu Duwa temple. You'll try a fish pedicure session and watch for birds, reptiles, and freshwater fish along the way. After that, head back to Bentota to spend the rest of the day relaxing.
