- Day 1
Easter Island Arrival
You'll arrive at Easter Island Airport and receive a traditional flower necklace before heading to your hotel. The rest of the day is open, so wander downtown Hanga Roa if you're feeling up for it and grab lunch at one of the local spots. If jet lag isn't hitting too hard, it's worth the 25-minute drive to Tahai to watch the sunset over the moai statues. It's where both locals and visitors go, and you'll get your first real look at what makes this island so distinctive.

The Arrival of Hotu Matu'a Tour
Your bilingual guide takes you through the island's major archaeological sites starting with Ahu Akahanga. From there you'll head to Rano Raraku volcano where about 400 moai in different stages of carving sit waiting. Ahu Tongariki comes next, showing off the largest restored moai platform on the island. Lunch happens at a local family home in Hanga Roa where they'll show you the native plants and vegetation. After eating, you'll drive to Te Pito Kura to see the Paro moai, which is the biggest one ever transported from the quarry. The day wraps up at Anakena beach near the sacred Anu Nau-Nau site with about 30 minutes to swim in the clear water.

The Legend of the Bird Man & Mirando Las Estrellas Tours
Two separate guided tours hit different archaeological zones today. The morning session runs from 09:00 to 12:30 and covers Oronio, Rano Kau crater (the deepest and widest on the island), and Vinapu with its carved rocks and moai remains. Your afternoon tour starts at 14:30 until 17:30, taking you to Ahu Akivi and its 7 moai, then Ana Te Pahu which is an ancient lava tube cave people used for shelter, and finally Puna Pau where they quarried the pukao. Throughout both tours you'll catch panoramic views of Hanga Roa village below.

Easter Island Free Day with Optional Activities
Breakfast at your hotel starts the day, then it's yours to do as you like. Several optional activities are available if you want them (extra cost applies). You could catch sunrise at Ahu Tongariki or sunset at Ahu Tahai, take in a traditional Polynesian show with dinner, boat out to nearby islets, go snorkeling with gear provided, ride horses through spots the roads don't reach, or try surfing if you're into the waves. The choices really cover different interests and energy levels.

Easter Island Departure
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll transfer to Mataveri Airport in time for your flight back to Santiago. That marks the end of the tour services.
