We were party of 8 and booked our APT river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest leaving on 10th August 2022. As we left Melb and checked into the airport (waiting in lounge for our flight) we received an email from APT stating that the water levels were low in Amsterdam and that we could not embark our cruise until 11th Aug. They put us up in a very average Marriott Hotel in Amsterdam where we had to pay for our own drinks and nibbles. We were served a very average buffet meal and two hours of wine or beer that night with dinner. Not what we should have received had we been on our cruise boat. Then once we were on board the vessel we had about 3 days where we had to travel by bus during the day. This was in no way what we had booked or expected to experience. We also booked the P+ violin level with butler service and laundry service. We thought we had booked a six star hotel on water. Well unfortunately this was not the case as the wine served with dinner was very average. Dinner was ok but it seemed to be the same meals each night. You could not sit back and laze about the boat during the day, you had to disembark each day and do their activities. We thought we would unpack on arrival and not have to pack again until we disembarked, well this was not the case, we had to change vessels half way through. I have done many Mediterranean cruises in the past and this river cruise was of no comparison the the other cruises I have been on. We paid top dollar for this cruise and unfortunately were left disappointed as to what was delivered to us. I would never book another APT cruise again in the future. Mind you our Tour Director Nick was great and most of the staff were pretty good on the boat. The General Manager on the 2nd boat was also good trying to accommodate 8 of us for dinner each night. We applied to APT to see if we could be compensated for the 3 - 4 days that we were impacted but all they would offer us was 50% off a Mekong Cruise in the future - NO THANKS!

    • APTOperatorWritten September 2023

The operator "APT" does not have a specific disabled cabin. This ship would have a lift that leads to all internal cabins. In order to assist further, we need to know the requirements. May we know if a wheelchair is required? We will need to know as much information as possible regarding the passenger with mobility issues in order to check with the operator APT that the requirements can be met.
