Arrival in Panama City
Your driver meets you at Tocumen International Airport and takes you to your hotel for check-in. Once you're settled, you can either relax at the property or head out to Punta Pacifica to grab dinner and do some shopping in the evening.

Panama Canal Cruise
You'll start early from Flamenco Marina for a 6-hour Panama Canal cruise. The ship passes through Miraflores Locks and Pedro Miguel Locks, giving you a close look at how the lock system works. You'll sail through Gaillard Cut and see the Centennial Bridge from the water. A bilingual guide explains everything throughout the day, and breakfast and lunch are served on board.

Panama City and Canal Landmarks
Start your morning at Amador Causeway for views of the city and canal. From there, you'll walk through Casco Viejo to see the colonial architecture and check out France Square. After lunch, head to Miraflores Visitor Center where you can watch ships moving through the locks from the observation deck and watch a 3D film about the canal's history. Later, visit Panama Viejo to see the ruins of the first colonial city from the 1500s.

Portobelo and Caribbean Coast
You'll take a scenic train ride through the rainforest along the Panama Canal railway to Colon, which takes about an hour. From there, it's another hour by car to Portobelo. You'll visit the Black Christ of Portobelo Church, tour the Portobelo Museum and its film, and explore the Spanish Fort Ruins. After lunch, head to Isla Grande Beach on the Caribbean coast for swimming or snorkeling, or just relax on the sand.

San Blas Islands
You'll travel by boat to the San Blas Islands to visit the Guna Yala community. Spend time learning about their culture and traditional way of life. There's time to browse handcrafted items if you want to purchase something from the local artisans. By evening, you'll check into your island accommodation.

This day is mostly yours to do what you like. Your guide can suggest activities or help you book optional excursions. Several snorkeling spots are nearby including Fragata Island, Diablo Island, Starfish Island, Chichime Island, and Perro Island. Dog Island is particularly popular since you can see the remains of an old Navy gunboat there.
