Itinerary
- Day 1
Frankfurt to Hanoi
You'll depart Frankfurt on a scheduled flight heading to Hanoi. The journey takes you across multiple time zones, so you'll arrive the following day. It's a long flight but straightforward, and you'll have the full flight service to keep you comfortable along the way.



- Day 2
Hanoi
After you clear immigration, your German-speaking guide will meet you for the transfer to your hotel. Once you've checked in and settled, you'll head out to explore Hanoi's old town with its network of 36 narrow alleys. From there, you can walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, which sits right in the city center and offers a nice break from the urban energy.

Hanoi
This morning you'll see several of Hanoi's key landmarks starting with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and a traditional stilt house. Then you'll visit the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature, which served as Vietnam's first university. By the end of the day, you'll check out the Ethnological History Museum to round out your understanding of the region's cultural background.

- Day 4
Hanoi to Halong Bay
You'll drive through the Red River Delta's rice fields on your way to Halong Bay, where you'll board a traditional junk boat. The emerald waters and limestone islands covered in rainforest create an incredible backdrop. Lunch and dinner feature fresh seafood prepared on board, and you'll spend the night sleeping on the junk so you can experience the bay from different times of day.

Halong Bay to Hue
Early morning you'll head back to Halong harbor, then drive toward the airport for your flight to Hue. On the way, you'll stop at Yen Duc commune to watch a water puppet show that depicts rural life and farming traditions. After exploring the village and artisan workshops, you'll continue to the airport. Once you arrive in Hue, your local guide will meet you and take you to your hotel.

- Day 6
Hue
You'll spend the morning walking through Hue's 19th-century citadel, which contains the imperial city with its palaces, shrines, and the Forbidden City. There's also a replica of the Royal Theater here. In the afternoon, you'll see Emperor Minh Mang's mausoleum and visit villages where incense is made. Later, you can explore a garden house on the Perfume River that holds nearly 5,000 ancient pottery artifacts, and relax with tea and cookies in the gardens.

You'll drive over the famous Cloud Pass, which provides fantastic coastal views of Vietnam when the weather is clear. Along the way you'll stop at the museum of Cham culture before continuing on to Da Nang and then heading south to Hoi An, where you'll arrive in the afternoon.

- Day 8
Hoi An
Hoi An is a charming coastal town with a well-preserved old town full of canals and character. You'll walk through a colorful mix of Chinese merchant houses, wooden temples, colonial architecture, and Vietnamese townhouses. The iconic Japanese Bridge is a must-see. In the afternoon, you'll take a boat trip on the Thu Bon River to see the area from the water and get a different perspective.

Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast you'll fly from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest and most energetic city. Your local guide will meet you to explore the city center, including the old post office and Notre Dame Cathedral. You'll also head to Cholon, the Chinese quarter, to see the Binh Tay Market. Later you can visit the tranquil Thien Hau Pagoda and take a stroll along Dong Khoi shopping street.

Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong Delta
You'll travel into the Mekong Delta and head to Ben Tre for a sampan ride on a side branch of the Mekong River. You'll stop at several locations to see how local people make salt, bricks, and other crafts. Then you'll ride in a motorcycle-powered cart called a Xe Loi through the rice fields and countryside. You'll have lunch with a local family, then head back to Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon.

Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap
After breakfast you'll drive to Cu Chi to explore the underground tunnel network that the Vietcong built during the Vietnam War as a hidden fortress. You'll get a sense of how soldiers lived and moved through these passages. After returning to Ho Chi Minh City, you'll fly to Siem Reap. Your local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Angkor
In the morning you'll explore Angkor Wat, the largest and most important temple in the Angkor complex. In the afternoon, you'll take a tuk-tuk to Angkor Thom to see the Bayon Temple with its famous faces, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King. You'll end the day at Ta Prohm, the 12th-century temple where giant trees grow through the structures, and you can look for the mysterious smiling devata reliefs carved into the walls.

Siem Reap
Your morning starts by preparing traditional Cambodian breakfast and making rice noodles with a host family, then eating together. You'll visit an artisan village that specializes in bamboo sticky rice and coconut harvesting, and you can try preparing these foods yourself. You'll also see how villagers process sugar cane at local stalls. After that, you'll visit a family making palm leaf handicrafts where you can create your own souvenir. In the afternoon, you'll explore Banteay Srei, a Hindu temple known as the 'citadel of women' and recognized for its ornate Khmer sculptures.

You'll take a boat tour of the floating villages on Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake. Kompong Khleang is one of the most impressive villages with its notably tall stilt houses, and you'll walk through to get a feel for daily life on the water. You can enjoy a picnic with a local family (depending on water levels). You'll return to Siem Reap in the afternoon with free time to visit the old market before heading to the airport for your return flight to Germany.
