Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu

    You'll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and head to your hotel for the night. In the evening, meet your guide who'll take you to a traditional welcome dinner where you'll get oriented and learn about the trek ahead.

  2. Days 2 - 3

    Kathmandu

    Spend the day handling trek preparations and formalities like permits. If you're interested, walk through some of Kathmandu's cultural sites: Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square all showcase the valley's architectural heritage and religious significance.

  3. Day 4

    Lukla to Phakding

    Fly to Lukla early in the morning with incredible views of hills and snow-capped peaks from the plane. After landing, start trekking toward Phakding, passing through Cheplung Village where you'll see Mt. Khumbila before settling into your lodge for the night.

  4. Day 5

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    Trek through pine forest heading toward Bengkar Valley, then cross the Dudh Koshi River as you enter Sagarmatha National Park. You'll navigate across a thrilling suspension bridge, walk along the rivers, and climb up to Namche Bazaar where you'll spend the night.

    Namche Bazaar

    Take a rest day at Namche Bazaar where you can explore shops, cafes, restaurants, and bookshops. In the afternoon, take a short trip to Everest View Hotel for panoramic mountain views including Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse, and several other peaks.

    Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    Head up toward Syangboche and walk to Khumjung village, then descend through old settlements surrounded by dense pine and fir forest. You'll climb back up through the forest to reach Tengboche and see one of the region's oldest monasteries with views of Mt. Everest and other major peaks.

    Tengboche to Pangboche

    Start early after breakfast, then descend toward Debuche. Cross the Imja Khola and climb to Pangboche village where Tibetan-Buddhist monasteries welcome you as you enter through the village archway.

    Pangboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp

    Cross the Dudh Koshi River and begin climbing toward Ama Dablam Base Camp on a trail that becomes steep and slippery in sections. Reach the base camp with its open grassland and you'll see Mt. Ama Dablam towering above with beautiful views all around.

  9. Days 10 - 24

    Ama Dablam Climbing Expedition

    Start your 15-day climbing expedition at base camp. Trek to Camp 1 at 5,700 m, then return to acclimatize and prepare. Make your way back up through rocks, snow, and ice, setting fixed ropes and establishing Camps 2 and 3. Reach the summit with views of the Everest range, then descend back to base camp staying at the various camps throughout.

    Ama Dablam Base Camp to Tengboche

    Trek from the summit region back to Tengboche, descending and crossing the Dudh Koshi River to reach Pangboche. Continue from there, cross the Imja Khola and climb back to Tengboche where local Sherpas will greet you warmly.

  11. Day 26

    Tengboche to Namche Bazaar

    Descend through forest of fir and pine, cross the Dudh Koshi River and climb to Khumjung village with views of Khumbila Mountain and Mt. Lhotse. From there, descend to Namche Bazaar stopping at Syangboche along the way.

    Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    Descend and trek along the Dudh Koshi River and Bhote Koshi River, then leave Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. Cross another suspension bridge, walk through forest and reach Phakding. Continue climbing through Cheplung Village to Lukla for your night.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before December 2nd, 2025 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after December 2nd, 2025, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Nepal Social Treks. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 30 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Nepal Social Treks will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
