Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Uluru

You'll arrive at your hotel and connect with your local guide for a walking tour around Uluru's base. The afternoon gives you time to settle in and get oriented with the area. As evening approaches, head out to catch the sunset at Uluru with a glass of sparkling wine. The light changes quickly here, so you'll see the rock shift through different colors as the sun drops below the horizon.

  2. Day 2

    Uluru

Get up early and make your way out to Uluru to catch the sunrise, which is quite different from the evening light and worth seeing. After you've had breakfast back at your hotel, spend the day in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park exploring Walpa Gorge. You'll walk between the sheer rock walls and keep an eye out for wallabies bouncing around the domes. The gorge provides some shade during the warmer parts of the day, and the walk gives you a real sense of the landscape's scale.

Solid 8 out of 10. Maybe switch 1 of the days in Sydney for an extra day in Melbourne, in order to take advantage of the livelier streets. More restaurants, variety, POIs, etc. than Sydney, at least in our opinion (the whole group's, that is). Personally, I felt like the less looked after aspect of our trip was the camping accommodation, managed by Adventure Tours, the days we spent in the Red Centre. In the middle of the desert, I wasn't expecting five star hotel rooms, in fact the tents were more than okay, but the food these days just didn't cut it. The kitchens seemed well equipped, at least enough for a tasty meal. Something we unfortunately didn't get to enjoy. Maybe because it felt like they were understaffed? (just one guide to drive us, cook for us, etc.) We ended up helping our guide with almost every task. To me, that's not an issue, but to others it may depict a lack of preparation or resources. Another small complaint is that they seemed like they had a hard time stocking to serve those of us who had dietary preferences. (For e.g. just 1 brick of plant-based milk (1L) to serve 3-5 people. Is it really that expensive or hard to get at least 2 L for everyone and make sure everyone has enough food/ drinks? On top of that, I was told I should've said that I have dietary preferences before the trip. Well, of course I had already said it, just the way they were asking to! Just proves to me they just didn't prepare correctly for the occasion. All things considered, the activities included in the trip were stellar, as well as all the tour guides we had. Always working hard to cater for us and our needs. Transport was also fine. We want to go back!!!! Thank you Tourradar, G Adventures and Adventure tours.

The trip from Sydney to Cairns was a fantastic experience, visiting beautiful places along the East Coast. It included fun activities, cultural experiences, local insights, but also personal freedom with optional activities and free time. After this trip you take a bit of everything from the East Coast of Australia, the best memories and many friends. Lauren was an amazing CEO. She was very enthusiastic, made sure we had the best time and best experience at very place. Her engagement was above and beyond. She not only gave tips for things to do on the trip, but also general tips for Australia and also tips for people who only did part of the trip and then traveled on their own. You could really tell that she loves the job and loves to show and share the beautiful things in Australia with us.
