Itinerary
- Day 1
Hotel to Soti Khola
Your guide picks you up around 5:30 am for the drive to Soti Khola, which takes about 8 hours total. The first four hours follow paved roads, but after that the route turns into unsealed, rougher terrain as you head toward Arughat and eventually reach Soti Khola, the district headquarters of Dhading district. You'll be staying at a guesthouse for the night.

Soti Khola to Machha Khola
Time to start trekking through the woods as the trail heads upriver along the Budhi Gandaki River. The path drops down to the riverbed and then continues along a mountain route with regular views looking down at the river. By evening you'll reach Machha Khola and check into your guesthouse for the night.

Machha Khola to Jagat
After crossing the Machha River, you'll pass through Khorlabesi at 920m and then arrive at Tatopani, which is known for its hot springs. The trail winds through a forested section toward the Dovan Khola and into the Budhi Gandaki Valley. As you gain elevation, the vegetation shifts noticeably, and you'll reach Jagat Village by the end of the day, staying at a guesthouse there.

Jagat to Deng
From here you follow the valley trail to Sirdibas, where you'll get nice views of Shringi Himal. After crossing a suspension bridge, there's a steep climb up to Philim where waterfalls drop down on both sides of the valley. You'll trek through Ekle Bhatti and Pewa Village, finishing the day at Deng Village where you stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Deng to Namrung
Start with a steep climb followed by a descent back down to the Budi Gandaki River, then trek through the valley passing small settlements. As you get closer to Namrung, you'll notice Mani stones carved with Tibetan mantras, which shows you're entering an area where Tibetan Buddhists live. The afternoon gives you the choice of taking an optional 2-hour detour to Prok village before heading to your guesthouse in Namrung.

Namrung to Samagaun
Walk between the Mani stone walls in Lho Village, which feels like stepping back in time. From this spot you can see Ngadi Chuli (7871m, also called Peak 29) with its snow-covered peak visible. A short detour gets you up to the Pungen Glacier for close-up views of Mt. Manaslu. You'll stay overnight at a guesthouse in Samagaun.

Samagaun (Acclimatization Day)
This is an acclimatization day to help your body adjust to higher elevations. You've got two options: either trek the full day to Manaslu Base Camp at 4750m (takes 6-7 hours round trip), or do a half-day trek to a glacier across the valley or to Birendra Ta. Either way, staying active helps with acclimatization. You'll stay at a guesthouse in Samagaun again.

Samagaun to Samdo
Trek across pastures and then descend into the valley below with great views of surrounding peaks, especially Mt. Manaslu. You'll arrive at Samdo, a remote Tibetan refugee village located close to the Tibetan border. Your afternoon is free to wander around the village and check out the nearby countryside. You're staying at a guesthouse in Samdo.

- Day 9
Samdo (Acclimatization Day)
Another acclimatization day in the charming village of Samdo. The surrounding countryside offers nice trekking opportunities for staying active. You can take a short trek up to Samdo Peak to help acclimatize, or if you're up for it, do a longer 10-hour return trek to the Tibetan border at 5,100m with great views of Mt. Manaslu and peaks like Simrang, Hiunchuli, Ngadi, Larkya Peak, Cheo, and Kang Guru. You might even spot Nepal's national bird, the pheasant.

Samdo to Dharamsala
Cross several rivers on your way to Larkya Bazaar, a trading post where merchants come down from Tibet. From there, climb a steep trail up to Dharamsala and settle into your guesthouse for the night.

Dharamsala to Bhimthang (Larkya La Pass)
This is a long and challenging day crossing Larkya La Pass at 5106m/17,121 ft to reach Bhimthang. You'll climb to Cho Chanda first, then continue to the steep snow-covered pass with great views of peaks including Himlung Himal (7126m), Cheo Himal (6820m), Gyaji Kung (7030m), Kang Koru (6980m), and Annapurna II (7937m). After crossing the pass, descend a steep trail and cross moraines to arrive at Bhimthang Village where you stay at a guesthouse.

Bhimthang to Annapurna Conservation Area
The trail heads downhill through low alpine forest today. This downhill trekking can be tough on your knees, so take your time. You're now in the Annapurna Conservation Area, getting close to the Annapurna Circuit route as your trek wraps up.

Annapurna Conservation Area to Kathmandu
Your last day trekking through the Manaslu region. After crossing the Dudh Khola river, you'll hop on a local jeep to Besisahar and then head back to Kathmandu, finishing your trek.
