Itinerary
- Day 1
Arusha to Arusha National Park
Your hotel pickup gets you to Arusha National Park by mid-morning. After checking in at Momella gate, you'll walk through the forest section with your guide and an armed ranger, keeping an eye out for buffalo and other wildlife. The afternoon takes you to a viewpoint where you can see the landscape spread out below, then you'll head to Miriakamba hut (about 2,500m/8,200ft) in time for dinner.

Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
From Miriakamba, the trek continues upward through forest and eventually into more open alpine desert terrain. You'll reach Saddle Hut (3,500m/11,500ft) by lunchtime. After eating, there's an option to climb Little Meru for views of the crater and surrounding peaks if you have the energy. Either way, you're back at Saddle Hut for the evening meal.

Landmarks/POIs Saddle Hut Little Meru - Day 3
Summit Views
You'll be up before dawn to catch the sunrise from Saddle Hut, which gives you views of Kilimanjaro in the distance and the dramatic crater walls nearby. After brunch at the hut, the trek back down takes you through the forest again, finishing at Miriakamba hut where you'll have dinner and spend your last night on the mountain.

Landmarks/POIs Mount Meru Crater Mount Kilimanjaro - Day 4
Miriakamba Hut to Arusha
The descent to the park entrance takes about 3 hours. Once you're back at the vehicles, you'll say goodbye to your guides and porters, then enjoy a picnic lunch and a short game drive through the park before heading back to Arusha or Moshi for a hot shower and some rest.
