- DWDavid· October 9th, 2024Fantastic guide, itinerary, accommodations. Guide accommodated all, from the uber-trekker who wanted and was capable to do more, to the person who needed to take a break from some segments, to the rest of us who trekked the original plan.Show moreNo Roads Expeditions commented on this reviewDear David, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! - MTMelissa· September 23rd, 2024The Tour company, No Roads, out of Australia, made the trip more complicated than necessary, and at times, disappointing. There were 10 of us and the group members could t have been better! Everybody got along and I had a wonderful roommate whom I had never met before. The guide was also amazing- friendly, professional, credentialed and highly experienced. We always knew we were in good hands. This trip was a splurge for me as I generally arrange and do all myself traveling for months at a time. So it was frustrating when the arrangements were sloppy (a room with one small bed for 2 women who are”singles,”.Sub- par (2 couples had to share a bathroom), and lacking (one night dinner was lentil soup and bread, and a cold dessert that looked like left over pizza), inefficient (the tour used city buses for transportation and there was a bus strike and a cutback of the number of buses due to the season change) where we started on the trail over an hour later than planned. We were having rain and snow on different days so this was a safety issue as well. The buses were terribly crowded and several (4) of our group became ill from a stomach virus…. I felt bad for the guide who wasn’t in control of any of this because it reflected on him, although he remained professional. I sent an email complaining about the bus situation (because I felt I paid for transports) and the Liason for the company told me that it was an effort to protect the environement. Disingenuous since this Australian company had 8 people traveling 24 hours by air to get there. She also stated that she is going to contact the city to Courmeyer to fix the bus situation. Eye roll. The problem with things being so inconsistent was that we could all see that things could have been arranged better, but corners were clearly cut to save money at the expense of the quality of the tour. There was a consensus among every member that parts of the tour were below standards and that the expectation for the price point (about $4800 pp US) was not met. We all said we would not use this company again for any tour. At the end of the tour, where the other companies’ guides got to hand out TMB (Tour of Mont Blanc) T-shirts, we got nothing. Guide Luca Ferrari 10/10 Food - very uneven, a few 10/10 and some 5/10 Hotels- mostly 8/10, but one 5/10 Transport- buses 3/10, private vans 9/10 Route 10/10Show moreNo Roads Expeditions commented on this reviewHi Melissa, Thank you for taking the time to write this feedback. Asked on April 1st, 2025We are interested in taking this tour Summer of 2026. We are in our mid-60's, in relatively good condition, and active. We usually walk about 5-6 miles 4-5 times per week. I have mild to moderate arthritis in one knee, but treat any discomfort with Ibuprofen. We don't have any trouble hiking at altitude below 10,000 ft. Do you think this is a tour we can handle?
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written April 2025
The Tour Du Mont Blanc is a truly stunning trail circumnavigating Europe's highest mountain, offering breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences. Located in the European Alps, you will hike through three countries, France, Italy, and Switzerland, exploring the unique cultures and cuisine of the valleys along the way. Altitude is not really an issue on the Tour Du Mont Blanc as you will be hiking below 2600 meters.

Asked on March 4th, 2025Is there point-to-point transportation option available for my wife if she is not physically able to hike a particular segment?
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written March 2025
There are two transportation options if your wife cannot hike: 1. Book a spot in the luggage transfer van (€35.00 per person, paid in cash to driver). 2. Use public transport, depending on trail location. Participants must be reasonably fit. Trek leader may require transfer to next destination if unable to continue due to fitness or weather conditions.

Asked on October 18th, 2024Would like to know more about the terrain. I have some fear of heights but there's a big difference between being high in the mountains and being on the edge of a cliff. Can you speak to this topic?
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written October 2024
The iconic Tour du Mont Blanc is circumnavigating the Mont Blanc Massif while covering 10,000 meters of ascents and descents. You will be hiking in the European Alps on well-defined trails. There are no dangerous drop-offs along the trail but you will be hiking over a hanging bridge and climbing a 5-meter ladder (not located at a drop-off) along the trail. There is no rock climbing involved on the trail. Hiking in the mountains also involves hiking along gullies and gauges. Certainly, while some perceive these as great vistas others might find this discomforting. It depends on how severe your fear of heights is and your personal sensation.

Asked on October 1st, 2024Is there a minimum number of participants required for the Tour Du Mont Blanc?
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written October 2024
Yes, the minimum number of participants for a private departure is usually around 8 trekkers.

Claire
Asked on August 11th, 2024Are heights an issue on your trip? We are also in our sixties and need an easier tour.
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written August 2024
The Tour Du Mont Blanc is a roughly 170 km long trail circumnavigating Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc. On this magnificent hike, you will be facing 10 kilometers (6.2 mi) of ascent/descent while passing through parts of Switzerland, Italy, and France. We frequently have participants your age hiking the TMB with us. However, participants a required to be reasonably fit and are required to physically prepare for this trip for usually 5-3 months.
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written August 2024
While the TMB is not considered a challenging hike in regards to steep drop-offs etc, you will be facing a hanging bridge that has to be crossed on the first day. Since you mention that you are very scared of heights, even a gradient drop-off might scare you. This is something only you can judge. However, hiking in the mountains does imply some more or less gradient drop-offs along the trail while you will be rewarded with great views.
