Lisbon
You'll arrive in Lisbon and meet up with your group before heading into Alfama, the historic neighborhood where narrow streets wind through old buildings. This evening brings a group dinner paired with a traditional Fado performance, so you'll hear the passionate folk music and haunting vocals that tell stories of love, loss, and longing while guitar echoes through the space.

Sintra
Start the day by painting your own azulejo tile at a local workshop, then travel to Sintra to visit the UNESCO World Heritage National Palace on the hilltop. After a guided tour through the medieval rooms, you'll head back to Lisbon by afternoon with free time to do what interests you - ride the yellow Tram 28 through the city, hunt down pastéis de nata from a local bakery, or climb to a miradouro for sunset views across the rooftops.

Óbidos - Nazaré - Alvados
You'll travel to Óbidos for an orientation tour of the whitewashed castle-walled town, wandering the charming streets and trying local pastries. From there, head to Nazaré, the fishing town where you can spend free time on the golden beach or hike up to the hilltop Sanctuary of Our Lady Nazareth. Later, you'll drive to Alvados and participate in a cookery class before dinner at your nature-inspired hotel set within Serra de Aire and Candeeiros Natural Park.

This morning you'll see the Convento de Cristo in Tomar, walking through rooms with gilded frescoes and azulejo tiles alongside a local guide. Afterward, visit a family-run olive oil producer where you'll tour the mill and taste regional products like artisanal jams, cheese, and local wine. Back in Alvados by evening, you can relax on the property by exploring nearby walking trails or taking a dip in the outdoor pool.

Coimbra - Viseu
You'll start in Coimbra at the historic university founded back in 1290, then tour the Joanina Library to see the Baroque interiors. Spend some free time walking through the medieval center, and later travel to mountain territory where a traditional working farm teaches you cheese-making while you taste three types of Serra da Estrela cheese and other local food. Arrive in Viseu with your evening open to pick a restaurant and explore.

Lamego - Pinhão - Douro Valley
Travel through the Douro Valley where terraced vineyards cover the hillsides and the golden river winds below. In Lamego, you'll see the 18th-century Baroque staircase with its 686 blue-and-white azulejo steps leading up to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Good Remedy, then have free time to check out the city. Next comes a private cruise on a traditional wooden rabelo boat through the scenic valley near Pinhão, and you'll end with dinner at your hotel located right within the vineyards.

The day is yours to do what appeals to you in the Douro Valley. Later, the group comes back together for dinner and you'll all try to catch the sunset from somewhere on the property.

Amarante - Penafiel - Braga
You'll travel to Amarante to see the striking arched bridge and the 16th-century São Gonçalo Church where the Baroque altar has gold trim covering the walls. Spend time wandering the medieval streets, then after lunch visit a family-run winery in Penafiel to taste vinho verde, the region's famous green wine. Later, you'll arrive in Braga where you're staying in a 16th-century hospital that's been converted into a hotel.

Guimarães - Braga
Head to Guimarães, called the cradle of Portugal since it's where the nation's first king was born, for a guided tour of the castle and Palace of the Dukes of Braganza. You'll have leisure time exploring the historic center on your own, then return to Braga to visit the Bom Jesus Sanctuary where you can climb over 570 steps or ride the funicular to the church at the top while spotting fountains representing the five senses along the way. This evening brings your final group dinner with a traditional folk performance.

You'll cross the iconic Luís I Bridge taking in views of the historic Ribeira district, the port wine lodges across on the Gaia side, and traditional rabelo boats dotting the Douro River below. Reflect on everything you've seen and done, grab one last pastél de nata or Francesinha sandwich from a local spot, then head to the airport.
