Itinerary
- Day 1
Jackson to Yellowstone
You'll get picked up from your Jackson spot and head straight to Elephant Back Mountain for a hike. The trail has black obsidian under your feet and offers nice views of Yellowstone Lake. After that, you'll continue to Indian Pond and Storm Point, which is a relatively flat loop through lodgepole pine forest. This part of the route is good for spotting yellow-bellied marmots lounging on the big boulders scattered around.

- Day 2
Yellowstone
This day starts with hiking up to the Mt. Washburn summit, which sits above 10,000 feet. You'll walk through subalpine parkland with wildflowers, and there's a solid chance you'll see bighorn sheep along the way. The views from the top include the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Yellowstone Lake, the Teton Range, and Electric Peak. Later in the afternoon, you head to Artist Point for excellent waterfall views of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

- Day 3
Yellowstone
Start at Mammoth Hot Springs to see the steaming travertine terraces with their colorful streaks from microorganisms. From there, you'll hit the Beaver Ponds Trail hike, which takes you through a forest where bears and other wildlife actually roam around. The trail leads to small ponds where you can look for waterfowl. Along a scenic grassy hilltop, you'll have chances to spot pronghorn, deer, and elk without dealing with the main crowds.

- Day 4
Yellowstone
You'll begin in the Upper Geyser Basin to check out some of the park's most famous spots, including Old Faithful. A few miles down the road is a nice hike along the Firehole River to Lone Star Geyser, which is the largest backcountry geyser in the park. It's this shed-sized cream-colored mound sitting in a clearing surrounded by dense forest. It erupts roughly every three hours, and there's a log book there if you want to check when the next eruption should happen.

- Day 5
Yellowstone to Jackson
You'll hike through classic Yellowstone meadows and lodgepole pine forests heading to Fairy Falls, a 200-foot waterfall that plunges off a pine-studded cliff. After spending time there, you'll end your tour at the Grand Prismatic overlook, which is the largest hot spring in the United States and one of the park's most iconic features. Then you'll take a relaxing shuttle ride back to Jackson, arriving around 7 pm.
