- Cheryl· May 27th, 2024The only complaint I have is that I didn't receive solid paperwork prior to the trip. I kept being told that we were meeting at the Parkgate at 6, so we thought it was a meeting only. It turned out that not only was it a meeting, but dinner and staying over that night. I have never done a trip like this before, so was not at all clear about what to expect. Thankfully, the concierge at the hotel told us we were booked for the night of May 17 with the tour group, which finally helped us understand what to expect.Show moreTrip date: May 2024
- KFKaren· September 21st, 2022The tour experience was exceptional and exceeded all expectations. A few things stand out. First and foremost our tour leader - Emmie Freeman. She was so well prepared and so sensitive to the needs and interests of the group. She was knowledgeable, humorous and clearly loved what she was doing and sharing. I cannot thank her enough for helping us to best understand Wales. Our driver John was also a key contributor. He got us everywhere safely and also contributed with his own knowledge. Both Emmie and John took particular care of my elderly mother - a walk more slowly, ensuring easy access and such sincere care. Secondly, I would thank everyone for the preparation in advance. There were no surprises except the good ones - a special stop or going out of the way to meet our interests. All of the places we stayed were more than adequate. The small size of the group was also fantastic. We go to know each other and shared insights along the way. I am greatly appreciative of the tour operator’s extreme flexibility. We got to know the country of our ancestry. Thank you very much!Show moreTrip date: September 2022

Asked on April 24th, 2023Are you offering air travel information for the 8 days Wales tour?
- Back-Roads TouringOperator•Written April 2023
We cannot help you with airfare reservations. This is something you would need to organize separately from us. I still have a twin room (one room two beds) available on this date if you would like to make a booking.

Asked on September 6th, 2022Is there some way we could take our meals and eat outdoors. We are very concerned about eating indoors due to Covid. It doesn't have to be formal. We could have our meal on a paper plate and we don't mind sitting on the facility's steps, a nearby bench, wall, etc. to eat our meal. Just don't want to catch Covid.
- Back-Roads TouringOperator•Written September 2022
If this is something you feel is needed to make yourself more comfortable and safe whilst on the tour, I'm sure that this can be something your Tour Leader and yourself arrange whilst on the tour. Whilst I can't confirm there will always be specific outdoor dining, if you are happy to just be outside to eat, I can't see there being any major problems.
