There was a full and interesting itinery which went to schedule and was enhanced by Georgia, our tour leader who went above and beyond to make the most of every part! There is no significant difference between our "New Zealand's South to North Island Adventure" and "New Zealand's North to South Island Adventure." Both tours follow the same itinerary; the only difference is the direction of travel. This tour is perfect for both active travelers and beach lovers. The itinerary includes a variety of landscapes such as beautiful beaches, lakes, villages, and cities. April 20th departure is available only on request. We do offer airport pick-up and drop-off for this tour, but this comes at an additional cost.

Traveler•Written December 2024I'm 60 year old, and been there done it. I won't be doing any activity except peddling at the waitomo cave. Hence, can I walk around the village or is there any walkable old town while the active travelers are bungee jumping or rafting? Do you have any sharing pickup and drop off? If not, does the subway go to the hostel? Is there a confirmed tour on 18 or 19 April?

The included activities on this trip are the Hobbiton Movie Set Tour and a visit to Te Puia. All other activities, such as bungee jumping or rafting, are optional add-ons that you can choose to participate in or not while on the road. You'll have the flexibility to explore the village or nearby areas at your own pace during these optional activities. Your guide can also suggest accessible local attractions or walkable areas for you to enjoy.

To clarify, the joining point for your tour departing is in Wellington, not Christchurch. You'll need to meet the group at: YHA Wellington Backpacker Hostel, 292 Wakefield Street, Te Aro, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND. It's very important that you arrive by 8:00 AM on the day your tour begins.

We have 2 versions of this itinerary from 01 September 2023 to 04 June 2025 which is the 8 day itinerary starting in Wellington and ending in Auckland. From 05 June 2025 to 31 August 2026 we switch to the new 11 day itinerary displayed on tour radar's website starting in Christchurch and ending in Auckland.
