Arrival in Launceston
Your driver meets you at Launceston Airport and takes you to your hotel. After settling in, you've got the afternoon and evening free to walk around this riverside city at your own pace. Check out the shops, grab dinner somewhere local, or just relax after your flight.

Bay of Fires Excursion
This full day tour runs from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, so you're looking at about nine and a quarter hours on the road. You'll head through northeastern Tasmania's green rolling hills and hit several stops: Bridestowe Lavender Farm, then the temperate rainforest at Weldborough Pass. Later in the day you reach the Bay of Fires where the granite outcrops are covered in orange lichen. There's time to walk Taylor's Beach and have fresh oysters for lunch. Along the way you'll pass through heritage tin mining townships, coal mining areas in Fingal Valley, and sites connected to Tasmania's convict history.

Free Time in Launceston
You've got the whole day to yourself in Launceston. Wander the city's attractions, check out the shops and restaurants, or venture into the surrounding areas. Whatever you feel like doing, it's on your schedule. This is a good chance to explore at your own speed without rushing.

Cradle Mountain National Park
Full day tour from 8:00 am until 5:30 pm, about eight and a half hours total. The destination is Cradle Mountain in Tasmania's World Heritage wilderness area. After driving through green pastures and historic towns, you're in the national park exploring ancient rainforests and river gorges. Stop at the visitor centre, then walk the Enchanted Forest Trail. Later you stroll around Dove Lake where Cradle Mountain sits right there in front of you. Waldheim Chalet is on the itinerary, and before heading back you stop at Ashgrove Cheese Farm to see how cheese is made and taste some varieties.

Tamar Valley Cruise
This cruise aboard the Odyssey runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, four hours total. You depart from Homepoint and travel 40 kilometres down the Tamar Valley, which is Australia's longest navigable estuary. Along the way you see heritage homesteads, historical landmarks, Windermere Church, award-winning vineyards, and waterfront communities. Keep an eye out for river wildlife and the Batman Bridge. Throughout the cruise you get local wine and beer tasting, plus tea, coffee, morning tea, light lunch, a Tasmanian cheese platter, and fresh fruit.
