- Day 1
London to Paris to Bordeaux
Your rail adventure starts at London's St Pancras Station where you'll board the Eurostar to Paris. After meeting your Tour Leader at Gare du Nord, you'll take the metro to Gare Montparnasse and catch a train through the French countryside, arriving in Bordeaux by late afternoon.

Bordeaux
Walking through Bordeaux's historic centre with a local guide, you'll see 18th-century architecture, local shops, and regional delicacies. Marche des Capucins market is where you can grab lunch with recommendations from your guide. The afternoon is yours to spend however you like, whether that's strolling the Quais, checking out the botanical garden, or visiting wine museums and local châteaux.

Bordeaux to San Sebastian
You'll take a train to Hendaye at the Spanish border, then switch to a local Spanish train for about 30 minutes to reach San Sebastian. After checking in, there's a short walk with your Tour Leader to the Peine del Viento sculptures for views over the bay. Afterward, wander the Old Town, Plaza de la Constitucion, and the Basilica of Saint Mary. Tonight you can join your Tour Leader at Basque pintxos bars or explore independently with recommendations.

San Sebastian
A public bus takes you to the eastern end of San Sebastian for a half-day hike on the Camino del Norte, a four-hour walk with a steep uphill section through woodland that then flattens out along the coast with Atlantic views. You'll finish at Pasaia fishing village, then take a three-minute ferry to Old Pasaia for lunch at waterfront fish restaurants before returning by ferry, bus, or train. If hiking isn't for you, the San Telmo Museum, La Concha beach, or the harbour and old town are good alternatives.

San Sebastian to Segovia
A morning train takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Segovia, about five hours away, arriving early afternoon. Walking with your Tour Leader, you'll see the impressive 1st-century Roman Aqueduct with 166 arches spanning 17 kilometres, the Alcazar Fortress, Plaza Mayor, the 16th-century Gothic cathedral, and portions of the ancient walls that surround the upper old town.

Segovia to Madrid
This morning in Segovia is free time to head up to the hilltop Alcazar for views over the city and rivers, or to get a closer look at the slate turrets, keep, and four-tower square. In the afternoon, you'll catch a quick train to Madrid, then use the Renfe underground system between Madrid Chamartin and Madrid Atocha stations before heading to your hotel. After you settle in, there's an orientation walk through the historic old town.

After breakfast, you'll catch an early train to Malaga. This afternoon before your final group dinner, you can visit the Alcazar Moorish palace, Picasso Museum, or Gibralfaro castle overlooking the city. The historic downtown area with its mainly pedestrianised streets is also worth exploring.
