- MMichael· June 5th, 2025Our 5-Day Egypt Tour with Ancient Egypt Tours went well. Cairo was overwhelmingly busy but our guide Walid did great showing us the sites and letting us know what or who to avoid. The Luxor visit was very nice, the Karnak Temple was fabulous and our guide Mohammed Ali was simply amazingggg! Everything in Luxor went smoothly and i have only good things to say about the city and Mohammed. Overall the logistics could have been better (waited for drivers to show up at the airports) in Cairo but Salwa kept us informed of what was going on. I was very happy we did the private tour as I think we got a lot more out of it and it kept the 'salesmen' at bay.Show more

Show moreTrip date: May 2025 - PSPhilip· March 22nd, 2025We thoroughly enjoyed this tour (March 25). Pre-tour enquiries were answered quickly, comprehensively and helpfully by Salwa. We were met immediately on exiting Cairo airport by our driver Hamdy, who was to stay with us for the whole of the tour. Always smiling; always helpful; punctual and courteous Hamdy is an excellent and safe driver easily navigating the very dense (and noisy) Cairo traffic. While Hamdy is not a guide, his English is good and he was able to point out to us the various sites of interest along the way. Khaled was our guide for the tours of Giza and Cairo city. Khaled is a kind and effective guide, judging carefully how much detail to provide, checking our understanding and always pleased to answer our questions. We were not burdened with loads of facts we were never going to remember, but his stories brought to life several thousand years of history. Plus, very helpful and effective advice on avoiding the usual hassle of dealing with people desperate to sell tourists things at inflated prices. We stayed at the Azel Pyramids hotel for four nights. The hotel is quite modern, impeccably clean, every member of staff we met were both helpful and courteous and professional. Good food with a very large buffet breakfast menu. On our last full day, Alexandria is about a three hour trip from Cairo. Mostly motorway. Worth the journey though, again with the key sites being visited, this time with a good local guide we picked up on arrival in Alexandria. During the tour we covered every item in the itinerary. In the itinerary is a visit to the very interesting old Egyptian museum in Cairo city but, not yet in the tour is a trip to the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), if you get the opportunity to only spend one further day in Cairo, it is well worth a visit. Yiling· March 17th, 2025Good: The organisation, drivers always arrive on time, the tour guide in Luxor is very informative and knowledgeable, and the flexibility about being the only one in the tour. The second hotel. Lots of free time in the afternoon to relax. Bad: The tour guide in Cairo/Giza is very shady, he worked with the scanners as he can take some spreads from it. I paid 50 euro for the camel ride, 27 euro on one small papyrus paper and 55 euro on fake perfume essential oils all because of the shops and the camel ride provider he brought me to. He even tried to scan me more by offering to bring me to river boat or lunch restaurant with pyramid view. He is also not knowledgeable and speaks with strong accent so I sometimes don’t understand. At the end of the day, I gave only 200 EGP as tip, but he even asked for more. Honestly I don’t know how he can be a tour guide or how he got the tourist guide license. The fact that the tour agency doesn’t guarantee the quality of the tour guide also explains why the internal flight ticket is only 9000 EGP, and they asked me to pay 204 euro to them. Overall: I recommend the tour because of the flexibility of the dates and many people I encountered in person (both drivers, tour guide in Luxor) are genuinely nice people and work professionally. But please be aware the quality of the tour guide can be compromised if you are unlucky but I guess that’s the price to pay if you want the flexibility of the dates and being in a private tour.Show moreTrip date: March 2025
Aldren Roy· June 6th, 2024Overall, a hassle free trip with Ancient Egypt tours. Guides are very helpful and will look after you, Ali in Luxor is exceptionally accomodating and friendly. They are good english speakers and smart. Salwa, from booking to the end of trip is very attentive and supportive. Our drivers, Mohammed (Cairo) and Abdulla (Luxor) are very caring, airconditioning and water bottles always ready after every destination. The only challenge in this tour is managing time around the sleeper trains, which means early or lates on accomodationsShow more

Show moreTrip date: December 2023 - AGALNA MILAGROS AVERIA· May 11th, 2023Our daily tours were very well arranged. Tour guides Walid and Mahmoud shared a wealth of knowledge which made the tours very interesting. Highly appreciate the attentiveness and alertness of our tour organizer Salwa. She was ready to help at all times, even at 5 AM when the Cairo hotel was most ungracious. And when we made a last minute decision to take the Nile River dinner cruise … this is not to be missed. Few glitches on the trip but not the fault of Tour Radar: - took time to find the Cairo driver for the arrival transfers (both international and domestic). He did not have our names in a sign board !!! - had to transfer to a local taxi in the middle of the tour because the bus company refused to drive up to the monastery …. Glad that Walid said we should not miss that visit to the monastery inspite of this ride fiasco - due to a recommendation, we chose to stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel —- BIG MISTAKE! Night manager MOHSEN is the most unhelpful impolite staff and should not be allowed to speak to any guest. Hotel is old and unkept, rooms are small, got claustrophobic with the size of the shower room. Asked my friend why she recommended this hotel at all and realized it was just because of its location! Avoid this hotel at all cost! - The visit to the Giza Pyramids would have been great except for instances when people would oversell their services or would ask for tips non-stop even if they didn’t do anything at all! Loved everything about Luxor. Everything went smoothly. Thanks to our guide Mahmoud who was with us from the moment we arrived until we flew back to Cairo.Show more
